Bought the last version of the tevion cd player, good quality for the price but watch aldi for refurbs. Took 1 back due to the cd player failing.

i thought things went hot at 60??

Bought it this morning at my local Aldi (Cardiff Pentwyn), They had silver or black finish to choose from.

Didn't take long to install, feel pretty solid, SD and USB slots are very handy and the 3.5mm input is just the icing on the cake. And unlike the idiot at Halford's who installed my stereo last Xmas I managed to get the radio working.

Voting hot, great player with excellent features for a great price.

for another £18 I'd rather go and pick up something like this Sony MP3 stereo much better quality.

That has no SD slot no USB slot only front aux in, or am I missing something? Good deal if I didn't have a unit for the car already, thanks OP

Is this advertised anywhere?

Which Lidl did you see it in?

you use the AUX port to play music from an mp3 player + Ipod. You need the cable which will be sold separately.
#14
Are there any aftermarket accessories to be able to use "hands free" wheel controls from say a Renault Clio for this unit?

No idea, but there is a 3.5mm cable included in the box to hook up your ipod/mp3 player to (or anything that has a 3.5mm output)

With these units you cant utilise the existing steering controls. Their are units out there that can do this (mainly Sony/Kenwood/Pioneer/JVC/Alpine/etc) but you will be paying a fair bit more. For the price it is fully feature packed, but to be honest the quality of this unit is not going to be anywhere near as good as a big Jap brand like Sony/Kenwood etc. I agree with "burstlikeabubble" ie, spend a bit more and go Sony.

I believe Ipods don't use a 'standard' (IE Microsoft) file system, so the player probably wouldn't understand it connected via USB.

I've got the previous version of this, and I'm fairly impressed with it. Two things that cause me problems though;

1. It doesn't work with variable bit rate MP3's.
2. The aux in isn't very sensitive, so the signal level has to be quite high. I connect the in-car TV via the aux connection, and I have to turn the volume up high to get it to work. Its like its set up for a headphone level signal rather than a line level. And even then you'd be deaf using headphones at those levels!

Just noticed that these also include a remote control.

Have one of these from a previous sale in my works van and they are fantastic for the price, they do what they are supposed to.

If you are not some sort of brand snob these will do a perfect job.

It's made out of the cheapest plastic possible.
#24
I'd happily pay 10 times this if I could find one that could make use of SD HC cards or had huge internal memory capacity.

But voted hot anyway.
