so can you use the bluetooth to stream music from an iphone through the car speakers?

"the Bluetooth function enables you to talk hands free on your mobile." so I don't think so, but fingers crossed ;)

I had one of these from Aldi and you can on the one I had.

The one thing I would warn about is to check where the mike is. If it is external, its a bit of hassle but better. If its built into the radio then you find yourself having to lean over and talk into your radio which is even more risky. Mine sits in my garage because of this.

picked two of these a few months ago for a merc and focus....both amazing for this price...only problem is that you need to be really careful when removing the fascia as it can snap easy...other than that have been told by both drivers that it's a great kit for £50!

I've been able to stream music over bluetooth with mu old Aldi unit.

These Aldi stereos can usually do a helluva lot, just none of it very well.
#8
gonna get me one of these,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,seems a gen bargain,

It says it has a USB connection. Will this charge a USB device (say ipod) without having to mess around with a 12v charger from the fag lighter?

Will the ipod then play through the USB, or would you use the AUX
#10
nice spec, shame it looks cheap and nasty
#11
Got one a few months ago, it's fine. Plays any media through your phone via bluetooth, also takes calls through bluetooth as well.
#12
has SD cardslot too so you can put your MP3`s on that too
not bad for the price
#13
Fantastic spec, hot deal.
#14
Has anyone more info regarding the quality of using your mobile through it?

Most likely it won't support Ipods (not sure whether it will charge them though), only flash drives and mp3s that are recognised as flash drives. Dont expect much from the bluetooth, the mic is soo awful that the other end can barely hear you. You can do what I do with mine and get an Auxillary cable (about £1 online) and plug one end into your ipod and the other into this. Quality is still pretty decent. Or just put all your music on an SD card and no more faffing about with CDs either.

Note for iPhone Users:
Got one of these a few months ago streams music via Bluetooth perfectly. Voice recognition for albums and calls works fine. Calls all work fine. The USB part of the radio is NOT compatable with the iPhone so it will do nothing plugged in so get a 12v cig to usb adapter to charge. Also TomTom on iPhone works great over it!

Is this just avaliable next thursday? or is it from thursday for say a week?

I got one of these last time they were on offer.

Nice bit of kit.
Bluetooth works fine. USB socket, SD Card slot and aux socket are all very handy.

Easy to fit.

Bargain.

Do these Albanian radios come with two quadrophonic speakers and a free Kylie Minogue LP?
banned#21
cheers looks like good budget investment
#22
bought the last one they were doing and it works fine. plays music via bluetooth streaming and the radio controls allow the track to be changed on the phone. the sd card slot is best option though. calls have also been ok via bluetooth. just a bit of a faff to dial a number through the remote but for £50 it really is fantastic. everyone whos seen it has been impressed.
#23
Would this be compatible with steering wheel controls?

That is the problem with a lot of these supermarket specials, wholesalers listed on Alibaba.com sell them in bulk, they are then "badged" with Tevion or whatever other supermarket "brand" and you have cheap chinese goods out there with as many packed in features over quality to tempt the punters.
#25
Bought one of these before. Returned it the next day. Was pretty bad esp for build quality!!

Would this be compatible with steering wheel controls?

I was after knowing that too. I have had some older stereos from Aldi and they were great but never connected it to my steering wheel controls. Dare say might have to go to a dealer (peugeot in my case) to see if they do it but may be costly
banned#27
yeah it should be compatible with steering controls but be prepared to spend around £30 for the adapter wire from halfords or any other store that sells them.
#28
they're already selling them now, my other half has just this minute nipped to scarboro to get me one, as im despreate to have a cd player full stop to replace the ripspeed dv710 iv got. Real pants that.
#29
was about to post, i have got factory fitted in my car and does half the functions. had i to buy one, would definately by this, heat added
#30
Just a quick bump to let people know it's selling tomorrow.
#31
im a bit gutted with mine, i dont know if its something iv done wrong, but everytime i start the engine, the headunit switches off and comes back on again, and restarts song 1 from the beginning (wonderwall is driving me insane now)

Also my radio presets are lost and i have to put them in everyday :( might be taking it back

@ DebtFreeWannaBeE
You have a slight error on your ISO cables, the 2 12v power cables are the wrong way around, meaning your constant 12v isnt constant .. its just a matter of swapping them two wires over, google has lots of hits for it.

I got me one of these units yesterday, streaming bluetooth music is very nice, bluetooth phone functions work like a dream, and the most remarkable thing is that the audio quality is better than the JVC it replaced.
#33
Has anyone tried fitting this to a VW Golf (2002).
The ISO connection prevents the head unit sitting back far enough, and the antenna seems to have a different connector/port.
Am I missing something obvious? I thought these things were meant to be universal. Not much help via Google.

Does anyone know if this will fit into a citroen c3 as is or will it need a new connector?
#36
Sorry, i am an idiot, pasted wrong link...

OK thanks for the info

Bought this and it looks very nice in my car. Just tested the making a call and it isn't bad although the sound quality could be better but its good enough for making calls.

In Manchester we got a leaflet with ours to fit the stereo by a company called wecanfit for £27.99. I do know people who can fit them but were unsure about connecting steering wheel controls so thought I'd get it professionally done. Phoned to book and asked whether they could fit it so the steering wheels controls work and told it wouldn't be a problem. Since they took the make and model of my car as I booked I assumed (obviously wrongly) that they would get everything they needed and fit it no problem.

After the installation I tried the steering wheel controls and they didn't work. Contacted the company and they said the engineer said it wasn't compatible. Not good enough. I was told at time of booking it would be ok so I am chasing them up now. If I take it back to Aldi I will have still lost my installation fee.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Bought one of these but had to take it back as the radio reception was rubbish.. my old kenwood stereo never had a problem picking up the signal but this one keeps cutting out and searching all the time. had to go back!

I am too late to get one of these they were sold out, does anyone know the make and model number so I can see if I can get one somehow on the internet.
