Get the most flexibility from your music!

No need burn your music onto lots of different cds. Simply transfer your mp3 files to a USB flash drive or other compatible flash memory device, and plug into the unit for instant playback.

This has been posted a few months back, but price now reduced. Ive got one, hooked up to a pair of 7" LCD screens and can thoroughly recommend.

The only downside is if you are not using a screen, the mp3 tags are not displayed on the receivers internal display - but I have to say for me personally, Im not too bothered.

So for a car MP3, DVD (it does play DivX and Xvid also), CD, USB receiver, this is a fantastic peice of kit at a fantastic price.

Great for a Xmas pressie - or why not treat yourself!!!!!!!

Features:
CD/MP3/VCD/DVD/MP4 compatible
USB/SD/MMC Card input
Video output via a suitable display (composite video output)
Electronic Anti-shock mechanism
Intro/Repeat/Random playback
AM/FM Reciever with 30 preset memory

Yes you should be able to, most headunits touting DVD and MP3 compatability allow this.

is the video out via standard SVID connectors?

is the video out on the back of the unit or the front. just thinking about wiring it in?

USB is at the front for flash cards, but the wiring (as with all car units) is at the back. I just threaded the video cable down the back of the dash console, removed a couple of clips at the bottom, then threaded it through the gear console to the rear. Took about 30 minutes top whack and prety easy - though obviously depends on the car you have. (Mines a Zafira). Nothing worse that trailing wires!!!

does this have ide tag, does it display the name of the track you are playing and does this work with folders, as i would not want to put thounsands of mp3 in a dvd and not be able to select properly

Only problem is navigation is likely to be poor. The ultimate solution is a decent hu that can use a hard disk, like the Pioneer P7900UB. At £200 it's a bargain IMO http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php%3Fpartno%3DDEHP7900UB&fr=ANE2pjflDkg5RlZXKIneYpfPVCnDFwRW76zIz8lTNmD-AAAAAAAAAAA&gl=uk&hl=en&sa=title although all hard disk head units have problems giving power to the hard disk. Mine works connected with a very short extension cable with the hard disk under the ash tray, but would not work with a long extension cable even with supplemental power.

This is the p7900ub in action
http://www.an1.co.uk/p7900ub/DSC00406.JPG The track title and album title do scroll if the unit is set to do it.

This deal looks good as a cheapie though, but if displaying track titles and browsing tracks is important to you spend another £150 or potentially be dissapointed. I guess the main advantage of this unit is the DVD/DivX playing aspect.

Does it have pre-amp outs for an external amp?

In my car I have volume and station controls on my steering wheel (fitted with factor-fit CD player/radio). I'm guessing if I install this I won't be able to use the volume/station controls on the steering wheel anymore?

To use steering wheel controls for a head unit you will need 2 adaptors, one specific to your car and one specific to the brand of head unit. As this is a no-name unit, you will not find the adaptor for the head unit, as they only come for popular brands like sony, JVC, pioneer, etc.

Might be a stupid question, but if it can play DVDs, but linking it to a screen, can you watch films with it?
#15
I've seen this a few times and have always avoided buying it as the unknown brands always seem have really bad firmware installed - how's general navigation on this head unit, are there any annoying beeps, as I know of some unknown brands that beep every time you press a button?

Also - does this unit have audio out, so that I can connect the head unit to my other head unit as I would like to run two?
