Sorry I can't vote any deal from these clowns hot.

I ordered an item (cost me about £4) back in October and it's still not arrived yet. I contacted them after a month and they said give it another 2 weeks, so I contacted them when the 2 weeks was up and they said give it another 10 days. They just keep fobbing me off and for £4 life is too short and it's just not worth the effort. There'd be no more risk with Ebay!

It's Attitude like that that keeps these Company's "fobbing" people off.You phone them back & demand a Manager & tell them it's not acceptable to wait 3 months & still have No refund for a Item you never received.( I can't see what Argument they can put up ? )
It's not about claiming back just £4, it's your £4 & it's principles.

Just tried to pay for this and a couple of other items using paypal only to get the following message:

We are currently performing regular maintenance of our security measures. Your account has been randomly selected for this maintenance, and you will now be taken through a series of identity verification pages.

Protecting the security of your PayPal account is our primary concern, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Doesn't seem all that legit to me? Anyone else seeing similar?

Charged me £1.47!

Precisely the same with ANY purchase abroad. Don't risk money you can't afford on buying anything abroad.

This sort of thing comes into the category I will risk though ... a couple of quid is a small gamble; and so far the cheap items I have bought from Dealextreme have been OK.

Checked the source code and it seems like it was ok, secure site and all directing back to paypal. Just seemed very strange at the time but even when accessing paypal by the normal method I was unable to do anything until I went through the security check.

Have to vote cold on this one - for one IIRC I think it was the iPhone which needs a 1A supply, so won't charge any usb gadgets. The second one in post 1 looks identical except colour to one I got a few years ago from poundland. Poundland FTW!
#17
wat the f*** its took payment and gave me order number but never asked for my name, contact address or email address ?

The USB standard is 500mA.

I believe tho that a Ipod needs 1000mah to charge as I have had an 800mah version it it didn't charge so it may be better to get a higher powered version.
May have just been that one and this would be fine but a headsup

Does anyone have a link to mini usb charger with a greater output?
#22
I just ordered two of these and iPhone charge cable :)

Thanks... hot from me

I have ordered loads of DS flash cards from deal extreme and if i get a faulty one they will send a new one without asking for the old one back. There customer service is a bit slow (usually about a week for a reply).

Is this not the problem in this thread on their site? (see item on data pins of the USB):

No - the USB standard provides for a maximum of 500mA available at a USB port.

That's how paypal works, it passes the info onto the merchant.

I've never had any problems with DealExtreme. One item I bought from them arrived broken. I e-mailed them photos of it and they sent me a replacement right away. :)

If you paid by Paypal, DE should have got your details and as previous poster mentioned should have shown you your Paypal details for you to check before confirming payment.

You can also register for an account at DE and log in before ordering. That allows you to track your purchases since it can take a couple of weeks before DE sources your order from wherever in China, otherwise you are left guessing when your order is due to arrive.

In general these are pretty good, I ordered one when they first came out about 8 years ago for £30 from the UK, when it eventually broke I ordered a cheap £5 one (might have even been from DX) and it's lasted great. I could cut through a soda can with my original one :-D

If the total is over something like £32 I think your supposed to pay import duty, not sure if DX print the value on the front of the package or not.

Nice spot!

Yes, I think the iPhone needs 1 amp.

For anyone looking for a similar 1 amp micro size (flush) USB car charger and don't mind paying more, Belkin make:

http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=489767

The specs say it is "quick-charge"

£9.99 at Argos or £4.99 at http://www.uk-mobilestore.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2258

I personally wouldn't mind spending the extra for the assurance of the Belkin brand.

Nothing wrong with these folks I have been ordering stuff for ages and not yet lost one item. Always reply quickly when I enquire. Think you need to be a bit more assertive!
