The model is ICS-15 and the make is Acoustic solutions.

When this was last posted people commented that WMA/MP3 is not supported (I'm not sure if that's so but it isn't listed).
The free fitting must be used within 30 days and will not include speakers, steering remotes, connecting amps or any wiring needed - as a complete cynic I would imagine the fitter may well find you 'need' some expensive adaptation and attempt to recoup some of their usual £40 fee.

Was posted before. Postage cost has gone down a little.

Dont most car units come with ISO units these days? Provided you have ISO fixtures (or the correct adapters) in your own car and can get the unit out without causing too much damage, its not that hard surely?
#8
I ordered one as my car cd player only works once its had a beating or 2 and thats a blaupunkt stereo, hubby is an auto elecrtician so probably wont use the free fitting service either
as long as it loads and plays cds without needing a beating to thump it into action its gotta be worth it!

I'm likin' where your goin' with this one dude........aight!!

I think most people will be better off with the factory fitted stereo than this piece of junk... unless the old stereo is not working. Avoid.

Yes they mostly come with iso connectors now, if not you can pick them up cheap from halfords or fleabay, removal tools are easy to come by now aswell.

Voted hot definate no brainer:)

Really, really good deal this one considering it includes fitting.
#14
You could buy this, along with a 'better' CD player, get the fitter to fit the good one and then sell the cheap one on ebay?
#15
they have been doing this deal since xmas, the speakers will be no beter than standard ones and im pretty sure this headunit would be worse than a standard one too! spend an extra £15 and get a branded headunit and fit it yourself, 5 minute job

My car has a factory fitted unit, that to take out you need to take out half the console to get at it. This would be ideal for me if it was a better unit. I need to fit my better head unit, but cant do it. May be able to get this one fitted, and then do the 5 minute switch over myself.

Does anyone know if we can use the voucher for fitting another headunit?
I have a good headunit that I can't fit myself, my car is so complicated and i have to take up so many things to get the headunit out, so do you think i can risk it?

I dont see why not,it says you get a free fit voucher,if you look at the fitting website,it states that stereo fitting is a standard £39.99
http://www.wecanfit.co.uk/booking.asp?categoryID=1

you can then sell on the stereo & speakers and gain some of your money back, making your fitting of your swanky stereo even cheaper! :)

I think the quality of this will be fairly bad. Also how halfords can use the word profesional installation is a joke. I purchased a head unit fromthere last year and their 'profesionals' could not fit it.
#21
If you buy a stereo from Halfords, they'll normally fit it for ~£15. Or you can do it yourself fairly easily. The expensive fitting is the speakers, luckily I had a mate who knew what he was doing to fit mine..

From personal experience, the words cheap and Halfrauds don't usually work well together

I bought this last week, and I really can't understand why folk are putting it down
the CD players seems pretty decent, the free fitting was a piece of cake, and no they didn't try and charge me any extra to fit it, some folk are just too paranoid!

thanks for posting, waiting for mine to turn up and as i said as long as it plays cds without needing a beating its got to be worth it! out of curiosity how long did you have to wait for fitting?

I bought the Acoustic solutions sterio which was posted a few weeks ago (the one from Argos which included USB and SD card for £25). This must be along simialr lines and I would say it was defo worth the money. Yea the facia looks a bit cheap but the sound is good and it does what is expected. With fitting included this is hot hot hot.

As I remember my sterio did need a special ariel fiting which I ordered from ebay as part of a kit which included facia and ISO cable for £10, but then my car is a 99 reg and was not a standard fit (hence the fasia). Not all require this however. I would check out the requirements as you may get charged extra for this, and it will probably come to more than £10.

the cd player is basic but good buy ideal for an older car or someone who is fed up with tapes! speakers are ok but not good when you put the volume up! well worth buying!!!
