Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but shouldn't the one unit cover both detecting and alarm??!?!

The detecter just detects it and then does nothing about it... it just sits there.

Thanks nicster, got one for my son when he leaves halls to go into private rented accomodation for his 2nd year at Uni.
Apart from the 10% code provided, there's also 6% quidco & 6.06% TCB on this. I went for the extra .06%. :D

I understand that the Northern Ireland Executive have recently stated that they're going to make it mandatory for all new homes to be equipped with carbon monoxide alarms.

....and blast an alarm in your earhole!

'Loud 85dB alarm.....'

(what's the point of a detector that just detects, Sherlock....? ) :-)

The detector should be wired into your home alarm system.

The 'detector' is also an alarm.
From the blurb on the website."Loud 85dB alarm"
