Edit - just looked into it, seems it will *fingers crossed*

worth a go for £7, wish I could find an esata reader for my mac pro at this price!

The other pics on the DX website show a SATA data cable, and a USB header cable. The Customer Pictures show the top off, the internal SATA and USB headers and the small opening on the back - I guess you are going to have to squeeze the cables through there (?)
Anyway, for those that haven't noticed, to use the ESATA and USB ports on the card reader you'll need a (spare) SATA header and USB 2.0 header on your motherboard.

two usb headers it seems - which is about all you get on a motherboard normally, so if you have this, then you can probably say goodbye to your normal front usb sockets.

and its only really esata if you have a sata2/300 connection to your motherboard (not sata1/150)

Should be safe for VAT because I think the customs threshold is £16 / £17 ??? Someone on here will probably know.

I have used Dealextreme many time now over the last 6 months with orders from £10 to over £100 and never had any problems with delivery or customs/tax. People who have been ordering DS cards ie R4, M3real ect have been having problems due to lack of stock.I received an email this morning stating that they have shipped this item and there is also a tracking number.I should have it within 4-7 days going on past experience

Good deal heat added, I think I might pick up one of these to replace my ****** one of ebay. Have never had any customs/vat problems with these people but delivery can be a little slow dont expect next working day service.

Wow.....what an ugly looking piece of....

I just ordered 2 items. Only one has arrived (unless its in a 2nd bag due to arrive)

On the sellotape seal o the jiffy bag there is a 16 digit code(with a bit of Chinese). Is this Deal Extremes code or Chinese customs?

EDIT tracking reveas 2 despatches. Envelope was misleading in that it hinted at both items being there.
#21
thanks info, feel confident using the site now, will be ordering very soon
cheers
#22
I have just noticed that this item is now "back ordered" on dealextreme's website so anyone ordering now might have a long wait. Their is a 5.25" version of this card reader on dealextreme going for £8.84 if anyone is interested http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.9405

Arrived this morning in post, everything working as it should.

I've had one of these for a while. It's really good. Deal extreme are very good. It's always worth searching for similar items there though as sometimes items that are very similar have different prices.
