This was selling *fast* at Gloucester Brockworth at lunchtime - they only seemed to have a few pallets dotted around the store (one by the fruit and veg, one in the middle of frozen and a few boxes at the back of the store near alcohol). Not sure if there was more hidden somewhere in the stock room waiting to come out, mind.

Get it while it lasts!

Anything but Carlsberg is always the msg i get from other half if i'm on an alcohol run! So no good for us, he'll drink export if nothing else but really don't like this! Fussy boy!! I don't like lager anyway so not fussed, lol xx
#8
Not a bad deal, but a very poor lager.
#9
Can I just point out for an extra £1 you can make it Stella 4% from ASDA
#10

I don't think he's fussy. A lot of people don't like the UK-brewed Carlsberg. I agree the export is slightly better. This is a good deal - despite the fact I don't like it, I may even buy a few - it's handy to offer to guests when they come over (leaving the best stuff for myself!! :-D:-D)

Nah, you're bloke has taste in lager love! I bet he's not keen on Fosters are Carling either is he?

This deal is good if you don't mind drinking watery tasting beer but I think I'll stick to the 5% abv stuff myself.
#14
Thats a good deal... worth stocking up at this price..
#15
wish it were export!
#16
Expensive urine.

3.8% - almost pointless drinking this, not even taking account of the horrendous flavour.

Still, it's a great deal for those that like Carlsberg, I guess.

4% abv in cans (unless they've lowered it again). Used to be 4.2% a few years ago.

It's the pub stuff that's 3.8%.

Still tastes like p!ss though!

spotted this today in a Tesco metro. deal off the week. couldnt carry any, but will be back in the morning. heat and rep added.
#19
Just picked up mine for the footy on wednesday night. heat added!

Just got back from my local Tesco with two cases under each arm.
Stacked the beer fridge ,just gotta wait an hour then away I go!!!

Cracking deal.

Oh and to all the detractors it`s well drinkable when cold.

What do you you expect for 6 quid Staropramen?

Get real.
#22
somepeople like 3.9 volume alcohol. i cant see the point in drinking till abusive, and waking up with a hangover. drunk men are scarey anyway with their big alcohol breathe in your face :w00t:
#23
Gutted!

I just bought 15 cans in Asda for £10
#24

Not a bad deal, but a very poor lager.

You mean YOU don't like it! One of , if not THE biggest selling selling lagers in the world cannot be classed as a poor lager. That's a ridiculous statement.

Not ridiculous at all. Most Carsberg sold around the world is 5% abv and above which tastes considerably nicer than this p!ss - ie Carlsberg Export. It's just us poor Brits who get palmed off with the watery stuff under the guise of genuine "Carlsberg".
#29
Just thought it might be of interest to someone but I work at Tesco and the offer is limited to 4 packs per customer. I was at work today when security had to chuck someone out after they caused a major scene after being refused 24 packs!!!

got 6 ordered online cheers op

Gosh! If it were a nice beer then maybe I'd understand but for this......................

Normally when supermarkets have had limits on sales of crates of beer online it's normally been six crates in the past. this is the first time I've heard it be four before. Nothing to stop people going in and out again and buying more though.
#32
Its a fantastic offer at 90p per litre.
Cheapest larger deal this year me thinks.
Going to get a few more packs at this price.
#33
Great deal...might need to stock up for when visitors arrive on top of all the Vodkas and Brandy.
#34
A good deal if you like tastless cack.... carlsberg is probably as bad as tennents!!!!! Ok if all you want to do is shove them down your neck and get bloated.. but not a lager to sit back and enjoy
#35
great deal love it you can get 60 cans for the same price as a 24 pack

I agree. It's the same for Heinekin. The stuff they brew / sell over here is barely drinkable. Find it on the continent, the 5% version is very nice.

By the way, there's a reason why continental lagers are weaker here. Back in the 80s when Brits travelled in drones on cheap packaged holidays to spain / greece / etc... many of them got a taste for foreign "lager" and found it more refreshing than the ales and bitters they were used to back home. They were drinking in smaller glasses though as that's how it was served to them. On arriving back home, the breweries noticed that they could start selling foreign lager to the now "educated" Brits (!). However, since Brits were used to drinking their beer from larger glasses, i.e. pint glasses, the brewers decided that they would produce weaker gnats urine versions of the foreign lagers in the hope that the Brits could drink it without getting too lairy.

Times have changed since then, with most brewers either importing the lager or brewing more authentic (5%-ish) versions. Brits have just gotten used to drinking the stronger stuff in pint measures. And perhaps all this has contributed to the growing alcohol problem in this country.

Personally I like decent beer, authentic lager in moderation, rather than gnats urine by the truckload.

And actually, if you wanted to get picky, Carlsberg Export is not the same as regular Carlsberg that you can find on the continent. It's the same strength but tastes very different.
#37
Many nicer lagers, but for a cheap drink during the football it'll do :)
#38
Is there anywhere i can get Carling Black Label form anymore?

As Heineken is my favourite beer, can I just correct you on this point? The Heineken on sale in the UK is all brewed in Amsterdam and is the same 5% beer you will find elsewhere throughout Europe. If you do enjoy it abroad, then I recommend you give the 5 litre kegs a try, very fresh and tasty.

Cheers!

I stand corrected. It's a while since I've drunk any over here. I shall give it a try again then!
