neat item if it works....shame it doesnt come with decent beer

plus the fact that you can buy equivalent amounts of bottles/cans for the price of a keg - I fail to see the point in these.

Apparently the beer is a lot nicer from these machines. Gives your full head on your pint and Carlsberg Export is about the nicest beer in the country me thinks.............

It does work and for the equilvelant you get a far superioir drink than bottles/cans. Great deal for a Carlsberg fan who prefers quality over quantitiy. Nearest thing to the actual pub.

full head

Wunderbar is a better bet. You put any of the available 4,5 or 6 litre kegs in one of those.
#7
Apparently getting the kegs for these is difficult though with few suppliers. Not really postage friendly

Good deal, but bear in mind the electricity running cost as this is very energy inefficient. It'll cost more than the £49.99 each year in electricity.

I am not sure if this is by the store only,Tesco as a whole or by carlsberg but it may be worth checking out before buying.

:o It uses the same amount of power as 5 normal fridges!!!! The most power hungry chiller of it's size.........probably! I'm not gonna vote cold as I suppose it's a bargain if you really want to buy one but you'd have to have a screw loose if you do IMO.

Carlsberg don't make overpriced beer gadgets that you don't need.......

Oh, hang on. They DO!!!!

Anyone have any comet discount codes?
#25
Voted cold because I hate warm beer.

Have one of these - bought it over a year ago.

I don't use it regularly - primarily because of the cost of running it as above. It is PERMANETLY on - no temp sensor etc.

However - when I do use it - the beer does NOT last long. The pints you pull from it are cool, crisp - and pretty much perfect. Much nicer than cans by a MILE.

It doesn't work out cheaper than cans - but the fun of pouring your own and the quality does make it nice on occasion.

For that price - worth it for parties . . . . . but be warned - kegs are NOT that cheap £13.99 (1-2 quid cheaper in places) and only 8-9 pints!

I would seriously avoid this!

The worst thing about it is that it does not cool the kegs, so you have to put the kegs in your fridge to cool it down and then install it in the device which keeps it cool. I doubt many people will be able to fit more than 2 kegs in their fridge without having to get rid of everything else you keep in it.

So for a party thats about 5 pints per keg, which isnt going to last long!

Factor this into the running costs posted by a previous person and all the other issues, it's pretty poor!

yep, its a real gimmick, just like those 1.5 litre bottles of grolsch per litre they are both more expensive than multipacks.

cant beat 3 for £20 multipack can deals. around 40-45p per can for john smiths.

But dont you just turn these on when you want a drink ? , you run a fridge 24/7 but not these
#31
Nopes - to keep it cool - on all the time.

Personally - great for the price. . . but you won't use all the time.

Shame this article was made in 2006 when these machines were first released. They were taken off the market and a new efficient modle the dm201.

New 2 speed efficient cooling.

New chrome tap and tray.

New pre cool feature

kegs are available at tesc, netto, threshers, local and costco as well as online at draughtmaster.co.uk.

I emailed carlsberg to see if the discountinued rumors were true and there head of marketing assured me they are definalty not being discontinued.
#38
It is now only £39.99, if you can get hold of one.
Got mine last night, still trying to sort out the free keg.
