I reccomend Doves Farm yeast.
99p at Tesco.
Good sized box.
Lasts ages.
Once opened put in a sealed container in fridge.
Happy baking :-)

Good find, thanks. Just bought one - bread pan is exactly the same as our Morphy Richards, won't find one any cheaper than this!

for serious breadmaking (eg every other day) go for a Panasonic (I have one and can't live without it!)

For occasional use (or just making focaccia or pizza dough) I am sure this is worth every penny!
#9
Heat added.

does it have the thing that sticks into the bottom of the bread?

This is from one of the comments on the Currys site:

Tried may times using good quality flour and recipes supplied by this and oyther breadmakers but this machine is not capable of making a good loaf of bread, Have even made my own by hand to see if it was me. There is a warning that the kneading paddle may get stuck in the bread. The kneading paddle ALWAYS gets stuvck in the bread. So even if you did want to eat the result the appearance is spoilt by the hole where you removed the paddle. Absolutely useless machine - and not 100% certain it would fit the trades description act.
#15
At that price, it's a no-brainer. So use your loaf and get one.

In fairness and to give a more balanced view of reviews on Currys website, here are the 7 of 7 reveiws....

its really easy to use and does what it is supposed to do.. you just fire in the ingredients and let the machine do the work. my elderly mother loves fresh bread and it suits the purpose

So far I haven't found any disadvantage to this breadmaker (but I must point out it is the first one I've used). It is ideal for a small family and my slight criticism about ease of cleaning only comes about if the bread rises too much and hits the lid!! I'm using it about three times a week.

The same as:

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.204-7334.aspx

at Tesco for £37.89

I have had one for about a year, and it's pretty fool proof - the instructions as simply and take all of about 3 mins to add the ingredients. And the bread is great!!

But I have to agree about the paddle - I have never yet managed to remove a loaf and the paddle stays on the bottom of the tin - it ALWAYS come off and you have to dig one side of the bread out to get it!

But at £13, do it carefully and slowly, and it won't be to bad!!
