In a time of titanic sandstorms, vile plagues, drought and pestilence - signs of God's fury and harbingers of the Apocalypse - the final conflict between good and evil is about to begin. The battle will take place in the heartland of an empire called America as a travelling carnival, harbouring Ben Hawkins (Nick Stahl), a troubled healer, will clash with an Evangelical ministry lead by Brother Justin Crowe (Clancy Brown). And when it is over, man will forever trade away wonder for reason

Hot price :) Any idea where to get Series 2 cheap pls?
#3
Can't believe it. I was selling these on eBay a few years ago for £35.

Hot. Hot. Hot.

Fantastic deal. H&R. Nice one. Looking forward to watching this classic again. Hope season 2 comes down soon.

I love this series HBO on top form. Well worth a fiver of anyones money. I already have season 1 and 2 this is a bargain though.
#6
In fact this is such a good deal I just ordered 3 sets as pressies. What a stocking filler for a fiver.

Great show, cracking price. Such a shame this show ended early. There was rumour of a mini-seres to tie it up. Great TV. Ditch XFactor and watch this.

Oh wow, this is smoking hot! 6 discs for £5.49! Only got upto episode two before I got more interested in recent shows but I can't avoid it at this price. H&R added :)

What shows did you choose over Carnivale?
#9
Ooooh good choice. You should definitely go back to Carnivale though - its dark and weird like twin peaks (and also pretty damn good)
#10
This really is a very good show

Series 2 is 16.99 at HMV

For who any is interested. This is in the list of the shows that should have never been cancelled. The end of Series 2 ends abruptly, so dont expect an ending.

Thanks

Not true really, open ending to the second series but its a pretty good ending in fairness. Its about the journey people.

So so gutted they did not do a season 3 :( Carnivale is a breath of fresh air, a thinking person's delight! Perhaps this is why it was scrapped, as maybe it was not dumbed down enough for the masses like other American cr*p?

Can’t recommend enough, this is a totally enthralling series. Bit of a slow burner, takes a couple of episodes to get into, but when you do your be hooked!! HBO do us all a favor and make season 3!
#16
Excellent show when it was like 4 years ago, not sure I could watch it again.

I'm just watching this at the moment (halfway through series 2) and it's absolutely fantastic - it just gets better and creepier as it goes on.

Absolutely criminal that HBO abruptly cancelled such a well crafted show. This S01 set is a steal for 12 hours of high quality creepiness! If only they would consider wrapping it up in a feature film, like the also great "Rome" may be...

American companies want people to stay tuned in to watch adverts, any show with a 'previously on'
or a large story arc is frowned upon whereas CSI wherever is pretty much a one off and anyone can drop in and out of a series. Basically TV is getting worse for it and this show, among many, is a casualty of it.

Season 2 was getting very interesting towards the end, great climax - then - noooooo, we need more!!!!! :w00t: Better to end on a high though, I guess?! Beats the hell out of the Life on Mars (US) final episode  Great cast in this too btw..................

Just noticed it's under 6 quid at 9 retailers... So at least when this goes out of stock there's plenty for fans to grab :D

Those 9 retailers (plus Tesco) are all just The Hut under different brands pipesmoker; they're all selling the same stock! ;-)

Unfortunately Sendit only pay Quidco for new users :(

It might be cheaper from one of the other retailers in the group which does pay Quidco - I'm off to investigate!

UPDATE: The Hut works out at £5.46 after Quidco. Hardly worth it for 3p IMO.

Yep, had the same email on Saturday.

Hmmmm not sure what sendit are playing at as ordered on the 24th Oct and the dispatch date was supposed to be the 29th.

They are still selling Carnivale First Season at a slightly higher price now at £5.89 but it does not say if they are out of stock?

Give them a few more days then cancel and go elsewhere.
#29
still waiting too and thinking of contacting the asa if they cancel ;)

Well I'm still waiting for mine!

Think I will be a pain and not cancel as they have said they won't charge untill they send it out unless of course I can find it cheaper at a future date

They still have it but it has gone up to full price £17 odd but the email I received from them say that they are having difficulty with their supplier, hmmmmm!

Finally got a dispatch email today - better late than never!
#32
Me too. Finally ;)
