OK, it's not perfect. Someone will always pick some flaws wrong with this deal, but at least a well known retailer is sticking their neck out for once!!

Price Promise terms and conditions

Price Promise: If, as part of a pay monthly new connection or upgrade, you find a cheaper price with a Competitor, on the same tariff, handset variant and terms as offered by Carphone Warehouse, then we will match it and pay the equivalent of your first month’s standard line rental via cheque (NB. we will not pay any additional amounts charged over and above the monthly contract amount e.g. additional usage charges, non-inclusive charges, international charges etc).

Qualifying deals: This only applies to pay monthly new connections and upgrades (including SIM-only monthly contracts). Excludes pay-as-you-go SIM only, SIM-free handsets, business and any 'gift-with-purchase' or cashback offers.

Competitor: this means Phones 4U, O2, EE, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone retail and online stores.

Comparing online & in-store deals: we will only match our online prices against Competitor online prices and store prices against Competitor store prices. We cannot match online prices in our retail stores and vice versa.

Matching individual deals: we can only match published prices. Price Promise cannot be used in conjunction with other deals, including cash back, personalised variations offered directly to individual customers, offers via third parties or pre-order incentives.

Like for like comparison: the handset and tariff being compared must be identical (e.g. same duration, monthly cost, inclusive minutes/texts/data, same make, model, design & network), must be in stock and must be available for immediate purchase or dispatch and subject to the same terms of sale (e.g. delivery/warranty).

Proof: you must provide proof of the cheaper price which is satisfactory to Carphone Warehouse.

Validity period: the price promise may be claimed at the time of purchase or up to 14 days after.

We reserve the right to withdraw this Promise or change these terms and conditions at any time

There is also a deal available with trade in offer's. If you find a better trade in deal from any of the above then Carphone Warehouse will beat it and give you £20.

http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/tradeinpromo

Edit:

I think the trade in offer should be ignored possibly. Even though it still shows on the Carphone Warehouse web page it seems that it finished (unless they choose to extend it) on 11th September (2 days ago). See below:

I've also just thought that this might also be the cheapest way of being fairly sure that you're getting the best deal on "The Emperor's New Clothes", aka the iPhone 6/6 plus (if you can be ar5ed)! ;)

Step 1 - Research The Best Deal available online (and in-store) from Phones 4U, O2, EE, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone.
Step 2 - Pick up the Phone (or get off your bum) and speak to Carphone Warehouse telling them that you're a mental headcase that likes to burn money (aka the perfect iPhone 6/6 plus punter).
Step 3 - Sign up for the worst value contract that has ever existed in the history of man, safe in the knowledge that you have Apple's latest all singing, all dancing hardware.
Step 4 - Ring your local hospital to arrange an extended stay in their Psychiatric wing!

Enjoy!!!

You obviously didn't ask strongly enough. Print out a copy of the T&C's and if you've stuck to them they can't say no! (_;)

Maybe true, thought the manager was a numpty and the sales assistent knew nothing. Argued for 5minutes and they gave some franchise waffle, the others in the store walked out and I followed suite saying no wonder the stoes empty

I had exactly the same thing trying to get them to price match the Nokia 920 deal from a while ago. Idiot manager said they didn't have to sell us a phone and to go elsewhere....which I guess they didn't but at the end of the day its their offer...not us trying to pull a fast one....avoid these people well at least the macclesfield branch!

Doubt it would make THAT much difference whichever newly released flagship handset you went in for Apple or not! Obviously the benefit of taking the Apple over a top end Android/wp is that you can sell it on for an excellent price once the contract is over, androids tend to lose their value fairly quickly in comparison!

Let's face it almost all contracts that include a newly released top end handset are terrible value for money, if its value your after far better off buying the handset a year on discounted due to new model out and then going the sim only or payg route.

What a load of ****!

e2save and mobiles.co.uk and other retailers online are all under the Carphonewarehouse umbrella so no matching there, they are not permitted to do it.

Their only competitor, now gone was phones4u.

Just been on the phone to get the biggest load of claptrap told to me.
