This is a deal that is not advertised anywhere, but if you ask for it then the store has to match the online price. For example, if a phone is FREE at £30 a month online, but costs £79.99 at £30/month in store, then the store will have you give you the phone for free. This is only if you ask for it.

I thought this might be useful to anyone who wants to get a phone online, but needs it before Christmas. Now you can pick it up in store!

But also remember that buying online covers you with Distance Selling Act 2000 i.e. you can return a contract within 14 days providing that the SIM card is still in its plastic and the phone has no evidence of use. As long as you wipe the phone after you're done trying it out then you can return it.

so not a deal as the price isn't any better than online

I wouldn't post this at any other time, but in the run up to Christmas people want to get their stuff as soon as possible. If you don't like the deal then vote accordingly, but you are saving money if you shop in store.

I do love love when the non deal police come out of the woodwork :-) Thanks for sharing the info alexdransfield, as it may be useful to someone as you say who needs the phone before christmas. As the for the previous two comments I think your names are quite apt and realblender you may want to remove the L :-)

I think it's best to try your own network first. (have all the possible cheaper deals lined up first) Stand firm on a deal/price match else say your going to/via another network/dealer and want a pac there and then. I managed to get a tariff match and free phone after a bit of haggling n insisting on a PAC. Going via cpw just adds a level of administration where it could go wrong and if the phone goes wrong you will have more trouble!

Just in the benefits of clarity, Carphone Warehouse advertise on their website and their sales literature regarding their 'Price Promise' and has been in force for many months.

Also, please note they will not match 'any' deal - the deal has to come from a 'Major Network' and not a 3rd party re-seller,ie, they will only match prices you see either in-store or online at Orange, T-Mobile, O2, Vodafone, Virgin and Three shops or their stores. They will NOT match deals on sites and shops such as phones4u, Dialaphone, etc etc - Terms and Conditions below.

I have personally used their Price Promise on a couple of occasions but also been refused on a couple as well (they do try their best to find something in their Terms and Conditions to refuse you).

So they will match their own deals online lol COLD from me. And CPW are rubbish, always buy your monthly phones direct from the network provider, third party companies are horrible and a pain to get things sorted when things go wrong with your phone. I know with CPW if you have a problem with your phone you have to give it to them for repairs which means your without a PhOne and if you get it direct from network provider, they send you out a replacement or a swap for a replacement at your door. Btw tmob used to do this I don't think they do it anymore.

o2 will match any instore offer from any mainstream shop - picked mine up with a CPW deal in an o2 retail location last week.

Some people do not like to see and test what they are buying and that some may even prefer to buy phones locked to a particular network.

Others may think different.

Price matching other companies is not what I mentioned. Please reread the post and correct your reply accordingly.
