spend over £50 for £10 Halfords voucher bringing the price down to £159.99

The Carrera Blast 24" is a solid off road machine. Featuring SRAM X3 21 speed twist grip gearing and a Suntour XCT-Jr fork with 60mm of travel, this hard tail will take on any terrain. The bike also comes with powerful Clarks branded CMD-7 disc brakes with colour coded white brake levers and white brake callipers, Carrera XC branded alloy rims and Kenda 24" x 1.95" all terrain tyres.

The Carrera Kids range has been developed from taking the best bits of our adult bikes and combining them with the specific needs of the younger rider, the result being a great range of performance mountain bikes aimed specially at the junior market.

The Carrera brand has been in the UK market for over 20 years and is sold exclusively at Halfords. The brand is recognised by cyclists for its quality, performance and value.

Isn't this just another "own brand" jobbie that can't be bought elsewhere? In which case the previous prices & claims of huge discounts are meaningless as usual. Not saying it's a bad bike because I'm not qualified to make a judgement but this increasing practice is something to be wary of.

A bike of this spec is worth about £200 / 220 so it's good value at £159

Yep, its Halfords own brand, there pice of £279.99 is obviously inflated so when they bring it back to the RRP it shows a saving.

Own brand or not, I would be interested if anyone else can find a similar bike for less than £160.

The halfords carrara brand isn't to be compared with their appollo budget brand, currarra frames are made by Miranda who also make frames for specialized and most of the other parts are branded components. If this ittle bike is anywhere near as tough as the bigger sized Carrara range, then it's very good value for money
