This is an excellent bike. Unfortunately doesn't have suspensions however for general town cycling it is perfect!

    You won't be disappointed.

cheers, been looking for a couple of weeks and seemed very fair. I only have 4 miles to work up and down a few hills. 17 miles is very impressive. Thanks for the pic, hope it helps someone !

Its a hybrid, by nature it will not have suspensions.
I do not claim to be a bike expert by any means, but at the lower end of the market suspensions do not add much value

Great bike!.....I only got rid of mine for a 29" wheel Trek (£160) 2nd hand the bigger wheels and road tyres make quite a difference

You can't go wrong at this price for a basic hybrid as long as your capable of putting it together yourself or your lucky enough to have a local Halfords with a decent bike mechanic

Fortunately it does not have suspension, so you will be getting a bike that transmits most of the power through the transmission instead of losing a big percentage through the suspension.
A bike that has been designed with the correct frame and fork geometry will have a degree of shock-absorbtion (or suspension) built in and is sufficient to absorb most bumpy road surfaces.

Suspension is a gimmick on a road bike and adds nothing to the ride comfort. Bikes with suspension are only neccesary when riding off road and there is no such thing as a budget full suspension bike. You either pay a considerable amount of money to get a decent quality bike with suspension that actually works, or you get a 'wonky donkey' that will give a very uncomfortable experience and will bottom out when it should be damping the ride.

I commute 22 miles on a rigid frame road bike and have a comfortable ride. As a budget recreational or commuter bike, this one should be OK.

As a handsome (ok, ugly) six footer, what frame should I be considering? 18", 20", 22"?

Depends on your leg length really. I'd go instore and double-check first but I'm about the same height and I use 20".

Depends on your inside leg. I'm 6' and ride a 19" and 20" frame. Try it in the store is your best bet.

I have this exact bike. Commute daily. I prehaps didn't look after it the best but I needed an entire repair of the cartridge, chain etc with degreese, ended up costing me £130, this was after 6 months use.

I park it in the day outside but sheltered. I suspect Halfords didn't properly lube the chain etc when I first got it. Other than that I like it.

Not the best bike? I'd say this is a damn fine bike for that price. Heat added.
