I know, I know, it's a whole 9p more than it was before, but you can't grumble as it's still pretty good value for money. I've never been let down when I've been for a carvery at a Crown Carvery pub. Wonder if it'll get as hot here as it did when costing £3.50!

Get your fill!

"Crown Carveries is dedicated to bringing back a taste of tradition - both in the food and drinks on offer and the generous welcoming hospitality that's served with them.

Our every day great value price is just £3.59 all day Monday - Saturday and as we're committed to carving the cost of eating out this isn't a special offer but our all year round price.

We offer the ever popular carvery, with a choice of three roast meats and an unlimited choice of vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puds and all the traditional trimmings. You can then help yourself to as much as you like from the rest of the carving deck. You can even go back for more veg if you've room!"

The nearest one to me is in Bowness....do they charge £3.59 there? Seems implausible - probably has a "1" in fron tof the "3" there!!!

Website states: "Children's Portion (under 10s only) are available at a reduced price on slightly smaller 9inch plates."
#13

#14
kids is excatly the same size plate as adults at mine 2 local ones, and cost 3.25 i think (dnt think it went up) u get excatly the same amount of mmeat aswell as a adult one :)

hi

we have one near us the food is always great the only let down is the high chairs they are disgusting dirty, ripped etc.. so makes it hard to go with lttle ones - child portions aren't much cheaper and if ou have children in highchair you can hve a bowl to put food in at no charge !!

Surely this is just the vat increase? Ok, so it works out at £3.58, but people would just ask why £3.58 all the time. Love the food, good to have the reminder for those who forget/don't know - voted hot, but not really a new deal IMHO.

Me and the missus use the one in Glossop a lot for lunch. It's always busy, even at lunchtimes, so there's no issue with old veg etc.

Noticed that a lot of school kids have started using it as well...got to be healthier than the chippy!

horrendous

Nice food - with the exception of pizza toppings - the only place I take meat now.

Three slices - choose three from turkey lamb and ham/gammon (sorry - not a clue about meat names - deed turkey sheep and pig).

A ball of stuffing and a yorkshire pudding - and all the vegetables and sauces you can eat.

Its also the UKs cheapest Irish coffee.

Great for students and those on benefits / low incomes. Sneerers not welcome.

Just son't turn up when they first start serving, else it's cold plates and cold food. Any other time it is ok
#32
To those turning their noses up, the meat is much better than at toby, much less fat on the beef in particular. Not voting on this though because it's a price increase (admittedly only by 9p) and not a deal.
#33
The 9p more i assume is the increase in the VAT to the normal 17.5%.

Good deal.
#34
great deal, if you want to avoid the OAPs go after 7.30pm, they've gone home to watch Corrie/Eastenders!!!!

Is the same company as Toby just a different brand name (and much cheaper).
#35
Carvery's are good for the soul
#36
bargain if you ask me, been going to mine for years. great food and you cant argue for the price

wasnt this posted before and got 1000c+?
#37
great deal but i have tried a couple of different locations of these carverys and the meat is very processes (reminded me of an iceland product) you definitly get what you pay for.!!! :whistling:
#38
Not really for me but a bargain nevertheless.
Voted hot.
#39
May pay a visit to check quality for myself, but heat added as I didnot know about this. cheers
#40
Nearest one to me is the other side of London :-(
