OK, so I'm taking a risk 'cos it's cashback deal, but I've used mobiles.co.uk successfully before (and they're part of Carphone Warehouse so hopefully won't go bust!). Claims can be submitted online (so no need to post them recorded delivery)

I've been promising my daughter I'd switch her phone to a contract before she starts secondary school (and bankrupts me with texting). The phone's nothing to shout about (but she already has a decent phone so I only plan to use the sim) but this gives her unlimited texts and data for Facebook, etc. and Orange have decent coverage where we are. In fact I'm jealous because I took out a similar deal on Vodafone 6 months ago but with fewer texts and Vodafone's 3G network is pretty poor round our way.

Price works out at about £1/month over 2 years (assuming you claim successfully) and there's a possible £50 Quidco (it's always tracked for me in the past) meaning they're paying you about £1/month.

The same phone was previously posted on PAYG for 90p: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lg-gb102-mobile-phone-unlocked-payg/735231

EDIT Thanks to rugman for spotting; Samsung Tocco Lite also on the same tariff or Samsung Monte for an extra £50 (21 months free instead of 23):

ive used mobiles.co.uk and the cashback claim is fine as long as you get the correct month. I sent it a month early but they emailed back to tell me. did it the next month and all was fine.

I've used cashback deals for the last 5 years for myself and my wife. Once the firm went bust halfway through the year (since then I've stuck with firms that are part of a larger group such as CarPhone Warehouse) so we lost 6 months . Not bad for 5 years of free calls and we have a cupboard full of spare phones that I hand out to friends whenever one gets lost stolen or broken.

I've only forgotten to claim on time once (I usually write all the claim dates on the calendar when the phone arrives) - so I emailed the company pretending I'd sent it and asking why I didn't have my cheque yet. The cheque arrive a week later! Claims are actually getting easier now as there's 60 days leeway and it can be done online.

Remember to cancel the insurance (the excess is more than the value of the phone) and pointless technical support immediately!

Hot from me. No problem with 3-4 different companys for CashBack, over the last 5 or so years. Even had the same situation as 'inicholson', called them, re-submitted the copy of the bill and the cheque arrived.

Cracking deal, thanks OP
Just gone for the Samsung Monte with 21 mths cashback also on the same tarrif, so after quidco, and cashback £25 for the phone, 24 mths of 300mins, 500mb data pm and ul txts
They are also doing the samsung tocco lite on 23mths cashback, but the added features of the monte swung it for me to lose a couple of mths rental

This is something I have been looking for as it includes internet usage. Can the mobile sim be used on an Orange dongle? Have to ask as have a 500mb SIM currently and this could solve a few issues

If they are part of CPW this is really great as been doing them for many years now.

Thanks for that, my daughter likes my Nokia 5230 so I was gonna get one for her birthday but I offered her the choice of the Tocco (same price as the LG but much better!) or the Monte (£50 extra) instead. She went for the Monte for its 3G - I think it's possibly a better phone than my 5230, and she now has a better contract on a better network too!

I too went for the Monte, probably worth the extra £50 (2 mths less cashback)...now also the missus has just ordered one, so we'll have his 'n hers !!

Can't believe this hasn't gone scorching hot, it's an amazing deal, and as mentioned earlier, the 1st decent cashback deal (i.e. effctively free rental for the whole term) I've come across

Over the years I and friends have had e2save, phone4u, OSPS etc and not once did I lose out, and the 60 days allows you some latitude.
Have had quidco, traded in phones to CEX, and ended up with unlocked phones. Will have to discuss this with someone as my latest deal is an orange

Hmm, my order has been canceled. Not good.

spoke to CPW today who said if mobiles.co.uk goes down for any reason (recession for example) then CPW will not honour mobiles.co.uk redemption deals. CPW only owes shares in mobiles.co.uk and hence its not part of CPW. so be careful guys. onestopphoneshop have changed their freephone order number to 0870 number so i guess they will be first to go.

wholly owned, so 100%, not like a shareholder of Barclays shares
