I'm tempted by this - its easily the best price for this camera I can find. I have a few different cameras but am looking for something small to put in my shirt pocket while I'm out and about and the YouTube feature is also quite attractive.

The reviews on the net are very brief - most are positive but the comment that it " struggles in low light conditions" is what is holding me back.

Anyone out there with with any experience of this camera?

cheers Steve (heat added)

I've decided to give this a chance and put the order in. I've been after a small cheapish easy to carry camera just to have with me when I'm not out to spacifically take photographs.

I proably wouldnt pay full price for this, it was someting like £140 when it came out and its still over £100 in some places, but for £60 quid it looks pretty good.

Don't know how good empire direct are about this, but the picture they have with the listing for the EX-Z8 don't match?

The picture is of the EX-Z80 and not the Z8, which altough seems to have the same internals differs slightly on the outside.

I had a look on Amazon and Pricerunner to compare them, think the Z80 is a slightly nicer design but it's £20 more on Empiredirect as they have stock of both, just the pictures wrong.

Hope that makes some sense?

Cheers,
My daughter has an older, lower spec Exilim and I paid a fair bit more than this on fleabay and it is a brilliant little camera. Have been waiting for one to come available at a lower price for me. This will be used mainly for holiday snaps. No problems with low lights there. Great price

does this have a rechargable battery that is included or does it use AA or AAA batteries?
#13
i got this for £110 and it's great for that price, comes with a specific reghargable battery (NP-20), but spares on ebay are only £3 or £4.

well worth it!

I'd say not. I've got the X75 7mbp and it's superb. Would love to buy this.....

Try Ann Summers for the pouch....

I cant believe it.. Just clicked through, clicked to add to basket and the site went down for a minute or two. Anyway when it came up again they've put the price up by a tenner!! cheeky sods!

Does this happen often with deals like this?

i use a micro SDHC 4Gb, but you gotta use the SD Adapter for it as it's an SD sized slot.

Mine arrived today. What a fantastic little camera! Looks nice, feels sturdy yet small, pretty good first couple of photos when I played with it in rubbish light conditions. A superb first digital camera for my mum, and with SD cards being reasonably cheap (compared to my sony pro duo) it's great. Bonus for me is the rechargable battery, not only will it be cost effective but it's also nice and slim allowing the camera to be nice and slim too. Fantastic. Thank you.

I was always told to let the battery recharge for 24 hours in the charger for the first ever charge to make sure the battery starts, and stays, at optimum charging capacity. I have no idea if this is an old wives tale but mine is going to stay on charge till tomorrow. It's killing me, I want to fiddle with the camera and test it out!!
