40 Frames Per Second Burst Mode
Capture moments with precision you never thought possible. The High Speed EXILIM EX-FH20 can shoot at an incredible 40 frames per second. In burst mode, users can choose how many still images they would like to take per second, between 1 and 40 frames.

High-Speed Movie Recording Up To 1000 Frames Per Second
As mentioned above, the EXILIM EX-FH20 can record high-speed movie footage of motion too fast for the human eye, for ultraslow-motion playback. Users can select a recording speed of 200 fps, 500 fps or 1000 fps. There is also a Movie Button that lets users quickly start movie recording without first switching from still image mode.

Prerecord Still Images
Record images not just at the instant you press the shutter button, but before! Continuously recording at up to 40 images per second, a maximum of 40 images can be saved in the camera’s own buffer memory even before the shutter button is depressed. Even if you press the shutter a little late, you will still be able to catch that vital moment.

Flash Continuous Shooting It is possible while using flash to take up to 10 continuous shots at a speed of up to 5 frames per second, so even in low light, no more missed shots. Also, the internal LED light allows high-speed burst shooting at between 10 and 40 frames per second.

High-Definition Movies
This camera features high-definition movie recording capability. Record stunning movies at a screen size of 1280 x 720 pixels, at a rate of 30 frames per second.

be careful buying off jessops, there share price have collapsed today and look likely to go under

Doing some background reading it seems far more likely the reason for the share price drop is not that Jessops is about to go under, it's because they announced today that there will be no dividend for shareholders.
#4
share price cannot go down by over 70% if it announces that no dividend is to be paid (they have'nt paid dividend for a while now) infact the share price usually rises as the company holds more money. This company has been strugling for a while now, well before the recession started. and in december they did admit that they might go under. Tey are very close to breaching the banks covenants and if they do then the banks will take over. Not trying to scare people here but warning.
By the way i was a share holder until a couple of weeks back.
[mod]#5
Well, if that really worries you, you can order online to collect instore - which means you dont have to wait for delivery. I personally dont think the drop in share price is too significant though ..
#6
Could obv order with a credit card since your purchases are protected for 60 days :D that way you can be guaranteed of delivery/collection
#7
whoaa ... £189 ... awesome.

Just bought a new SLR, but always wanted slo-mo fun :P
#8
I think this is potentially a misprice...should be £299?

It says £199, was £342 saving £43 :?
#9
seems a great price. buy on credit card is always good advice for purchases over £100 though of course remember to pay it off before you start getting charged interest. As for jessops going under, to be honest most specialist shops will struggle when they are competing against the internet, but there is also the manufacturers guarantee as well.
#10
convinced this is a misprice.
#11
in terms of picture quality and resolution how does this compare to Nikon D40

they're on different leagues... d40 is a "proper" SLR... the exilim is a "bridge model" between compact and SLR.

Having said that, i think D40 is deffo better in term of pic quality

anyway, can anyone confirm if the casio has panorama shoot mode? couldnt find it even on their official product page: http://www.casio.com/products/Cameras/High_Speed_EXILIM/EX-FH20/

heat and rep added...
#13
Nice price, wouldn't worry too much about the share price if you order on your credit card, it's been in the toilet for months
#14
seems more like a jack of all trades...but master of none to me , looking at reviews

which for someone looking to improve their photos but not looking to go full on with lenses etc is probably a positive versus a negative. and for the price it is a good deal

see your point, but this camera seems to be trying to sell on it's video capability rather than being a standout bridge camera (noise crops up on a few reviews) - obviously, just my interpretation of the reviews i have read

It is but for the price it will beat the high end Pana Lumix's and is a fair whack cheaper than entry level DSLRs :)
#18
Certainly seems like a mis-price - even the datafeeds to the comparison sites are showing it as £299 at Jessops, and thats about as low as the price gets anywhere.

I'd say the reviews are Mid-range, its not overly criticised, its main flaws in fact being followed by "and for £399 you would want an entry level DSLR" or "good if £100 cheaper" type of comments.

So - at £189, I'd have thought its a damn good buy. I have one of the smaller casio exilims (carrying around a D40 and lenses often not practical!) and its served me well...

4% quidco
5% off with QUIDCOFIVE

Otherwise quidco might not track :) (can pay online and collect in store too)
#20
Waste of money.

The size of an SLR without being an SLR.

Worth fifty quid this time next year.

A used D50 would be a far better investment.
#21
Looks like a misprice to me. Amazon is selling it for £329(same price for most other retailers for this at the moment). Anyways lets wait and watch.

use SPRING10 for a £10 discount (better than 5% by massive 5p)

Delivered for £189
[mod]#22
Hey guys, we've been assured by Jessops that this is not a mis-price :)

Check out the ISO performance of this thing. Which to be honest is super poor for a camera of this size.

The test was done in perfect conditions (near) - so this will be worse when you are shooting in the house, high speed shots which this camera seems good for, and also in the night. Image noise will be very present, and give you poor quality images.

Bad camera. Good deal.
#24
eough ... this camera's main selling point is the fast shooting rate ...
#25
I really wanted this for its fast frame rates, but it turns out that you can't use the optical zoom during video capture, which rules it out for any proper video use. Shame, as its video capabilities is one of its main selling points.

and the HS video's are small & blurry during playback too:
• 480 × 360 (HS, 30-210 fps)
• 224 × 168 (HS, 420 fps)
• 224 × 56 (HS, 1000 fps)
#27
Seems inferior in every way to a DSLR when talking about photos. But if you also want video then this is an option.
#28
£189 is a reasonable price. The £342 price tag is a joke anyway.
But, for me the £240 Lumix is a better investment, especially with its video shoot at 720p
#29
I have just reserved this camera to pick up in store. Payment is made on collection
#30
this deal looked tempting,

however a quick read of the trustedreview shows that the camera is actually nothing more than a novelty item

for 200 squid thats still too expensive, you can buy an entry level dslr for around 250.

the 100 - 1000 FPS looks interesting, until you realise when on earth would you ever have a real need for it ?
#31
Bridge = Lumix
Entry DSLR = Sony A200

take a pick, but both are better buy than a Casio and not far off in price

I voted Hot - because it is cheaper than anywhere else by a margin, but i am buying a Lumix :)

Yeah, the resolutions are small, and the 1000fps is pretty much unusable, but 210 fps resolutions are okay. It's pretty amazing really.

It's a good price for this camera, and I've voted hot, but have decided at this time it's not for me.

Out of stock for Home Delivery - theres a surprise :-)

Still available for Store pick up.

Why has the price of this camera been slashed so much??

I know its not the best out there but no-one else seems to have practically halved its price!
#34
How has nobody picked up on that it has 20x optical zoom - it's impossible to say a DSLR is better value as you'd need to buy at least a 500mm lens to get anywhere near the same zoom range!
I own a DSLR as well as a Fuji 10x optical zoom camera, and I have to say for taking photos of stuff where a long zoom is needed, the Fuji is fantastic for the price.
This is a great deal, so heat & rep to OP - many thanks for posting, it's tempting for me to buy it!
#35
If you want or need the high speed facilities of this camera, then you really have no other choice at anywhere near this price, making it a hot deal.

If you want a general purpose bridge camera, then a Fuji will give similar quality for less money, or you can pay a little more for a Lumix FZ18 or FZ28 which are vastly superior.

Was this the one on the Gadget Show? If so , picture quality was poor.
Gotta agree about this being a gimmick camera worth £50 next year.
