Had one of these and took it back

Really struggles to take pics indoors - can't focus

The Casio Exilim EX-Z77 is one of the less expensive pocket sized cameras. It is disappointing that the photos it produces are not sharper. Personally I would either pay more for a better quality pocket sized camera or pay the same for a larger camera that takes a better photo.

The lack of sharpness in the photos is the biggest disappointment

In my opinion, at the moment for the best bang per buck, quality wise, you can't beat the FujiF40D for £99.99 on, which after 4% quidco comes in at £95.99 delivered.

Superb camera for the price.
im looking for a good camera around £100 any other suggestions to look at please?

Canon should be releasing some new cameras in March, if you're not too desperate it might be worth holding on to see how they compete. I think the rrp is likely to be above your price range, but who knows what the actual online price will be.

At the moment though, I'd also give my vote to the Fuji F40fd
See above FujiF40D

not a good camera

just pay an extra £50 or so and get something like a sony h3

Samsung L83T

Pretty small and with an internal 3x zoom, similar price.

Casio Exilim V8

Same idea with zoom, but 8x optical - offering a silly optical and digital combined zoom, similar size, fifty quid more.

i got this kodak m753 camera from boots last week and would really recommend it. It costs £79.99 but use code SJMA36 to get £10 off, so it costs £69.99. Also if you collect points you get 10 points for every pound spent at the minute on .com. HTH
I got my girlfriend the Casio Exilim Z1050, which is a 10.1MP version and it is very nice. The screen is huge, the picture quality very decent indeed. It also looks incredible from a visual design point of view. As a bloke, I'd prefer the black or red one, but she adores the blue one! For £110 off Amazon Marketplace, that's the one I'd go for for a great cheap compact.
Welshguy have a look at this thread the camera is supurb
This is a pretty good camera, but not significantly different to the Z75, which can be bought for £79.
I'd also consider the Sony DSC-W55. Was around £135 5 months ago - now under £100 at many places. I'm sure I've seen it for around £90, somewhere. Also, consider the DSC-W80; it's £112 at ebuyer. Great reviews for both cameras and now great value.

If you can afford it, I'd go for the Canon A720iS but its not a "compact." Gives you a lot more in the way of control and I'm sure I've seen it for around £145 (possibly after Canon cashback). The Canon compacts are generally the best, but you pay for the quality. The Ixus 70 mentioned is a good deal.

Otherwise I'd vote for the Fuji F40fd or F45fd (same camera - F45fd is an exclusive blue colour) - got one for £90 from Boots back in December for my sister - she loves it. Fuji are great for user-friendly indoor photos. The other Fuji I'd recommend is the Z5fd - not the Z10fd - as it's about £95 at the moment and great indoor quality. Just have to be careful about the Auto ISO - it overcompensates (uses ISO400 when 200 is plenty)

Good luck.
Steve's Digicams liked it:

I've got the 6 megapixel version, and for something extremely solid and extremely small, it's fantastic. Take a look at Steve's sample pics if you don't believe me. It's got a metal body, not plastic; and the 6MP version is still the smallest digital camera made for the mass market. This one is "2" millimetres deeper. It's great for shoving in my jeans pocket and walking out of the house with. I've had loads of action shots of the kids that I wouldn't have had if my camera had been significantly bigger...

I got an HP 4 x optical 3 x digital zoom camera for my son last week in Boots for £30, and the HP picture printer for £30 - fine for him and I thought a very good price. Got 300 extra points for spending £30 too, and double points.
