I've been using a 10 mega pixel Exilim for the past two years, and am very pleased with it, even though it cost three times this one. I'd recommend it to anyone

Great camera, its a rebadged Z80, identical to the Z80 but exclusive to Boots it for some reason has been rebadged the Z20, got one for my wife as one of her xmas pressies for £78 from Boots and thought that was a good deal then, this is superb. The Z80 gets great reviews, takes great sharp pictures, good battery life and cheap spares available on Ebay, the start up time is really quick, has to be one of the most compact optical lens cameras on the market, records in h.268 directly compatible with youtube...about the only thing I could slightly fault it for is the LCD screen is a touch grainy when in live view mode.

Heat added, could do far far worse than this camera for that sort of money.

Definitely is the same camera, did some research, Casio have done it before with certain Exilim models whereby they tag the model number differently for certain retailers :

Z80 :

And the Z20 models :

Only difference is they reversed round the Exilim logo positioning, and slap a EX-Z20 sticker on the bottom, same camera specification. In fact Boots have the photo on their website for the EX-Z80 instead! My wifes EX-Z20 looks the same as the black one above with the 8.1 highlighted in yellow and the Exilim logo at the bottom left front of the camera.

Have voted hot!

Might get one, depending on the battery? Does it take batteries or is it a rechargeable battery?

Have just ordered one for Mrs Wookster for her birthday -

I needed it to be easy to use and small...She's used to that!

Also bought one before Xmas for £70 from Boots for my daughter. Easy to use, takes good photos and videos and battery lasts a long time on each charge.

What's the screen like on these?

Got a 10MP one. It's fantastic. The video is that good that I left my old video camera at home when I went on holiday and just took this. Fantastic stills and video.

Same shell, same camera features, bar it being 10.1MP instead of 8MP

Actually I think you'll find that's not true. The 1080 is part of an older model range (but still very good).

I've had excellent experience with a number of different Exilim cameras and rate them highly. Prices are coming down across all makes but this is still a great deal for a decent 'entry level' camera.

Are you sure you are not mistaking it with the Z1050 which was 10MP but lacked the youtube h.268 recording mode? As far as I can see the Z1080 has the same features as the Z80/Z20 but has a 10MP CCD sensor.

tried to get this instore and they only had the 9.1MP version. Going to try glasgow and braehead stores asap!
#23
Still instock in Lowestoft :)

Just checked and now out of stock - real shame.

My local store has a couple but insist it's never been reduced. The system says £97 and they won't budge from that. They insist it will be the same price anywhere (except possibly on line - out of stock) and wouldn't accept that others have bought at £59.99 in store.

Any thoughts / advice anyone.

Thanks, very helpful. Did you actually buy one at that price? Did it come up at £59.99 on their system? My local store wasn't being obstructive, they scanned it but only found the higher price.

Same here in Reading. It's still at the old price when scanned - the lady I spoke to however said that their price changes happen on a Wednesday so perhaps it will be reduced today *fingers crossed*.
