'Chronograph' just means a watch that tells the time and has a stopwatch - thus, they are both chronographs

Hot deal BTW, heat & rep added.

The good things about these watches is that they are simple, reliable, you get an alarm, and backlight. The calendar gets the days of the months correct, unless you're in a leap year. They are pretty water resistant, robust and reliable.

Downsides are the looks, the plastic strap (I was getting a rash from this, which has gone when I switched to a leather strap) and that you might not want to wear one for a flight to the US:

When I was a kid I felt I had the worlds most powerful computer on my arm when wearing this. Imagine how sad I was a few years later when that kid (every school had one) came in with the latest style with a full keyboard which let you enter peoples names and tel numbers.

Can't beat the old Casio watches - I got a box of them. Best one I got worked out speed and load of other c*&p but can't get a strap for it. There boys toys.
I like my Citizen out of work (1 still with Citizen awaiting repair) but got the Sony bluetooth exec watch for xmas and that is good.
It's a bloke thing.

Jaw drops open in amazement at the crass stupidity.

OMG I'm wearing a cheap Casio - and mine does have a calculator!

Oh there's someone at the door...................

Gutted, bought a replacement strap about 2 weeks ago and paid almost £5!!! Could have replaced the whole watch for not much more!

#15
lol... how quaint that people still buy watches! (I thought even six year olds thru 80 year olds all carry a mobile phone with them ...which guess what? It has the time on the front screen.)

#17
Has it got an adjustable timer ?
They used to be on a lot of the Casio watches as well as a stopwatch.

You'd be utterly fecked when your phone battery goes cack tho':p
#19
lol they still make these watches?! I remember when this exact same model came out in like 1990, everyone had one in school!

More convenient to look at your wrist anyday than keep pulling out your cell phone. Also there is more to a watch than displaying the time, to some its an item of jewellery.

haha! my grandad has one from his younger days :w00t:

Damm! I have one of these and still working perfectly after 11 years, not even changed the battery. Good deal heat added.
#24
I have a similar watch but a more rounder model model with the illuminator.

One one u shown is probably the best price u can get on a casio watch.

Oh my God!
Oops Sorry..... Goodness. I was gonna buy one of these watches, until i read the article that im gonna be thrown into guantanamo bay for wearing one! I´ll wait till obama´s closed the place first me thinks!
Sorry
#27
I like the look of these, the gold metal ones more, but this is still hot at this price.

Yup, I had the one you showed, pointed the schools remote at it, programmed the buttons and was well away.

My english and geography lessons both had the same VCRs, so when the teacher left the room I would fast forward it and laugh while everyone tried to find the remote to stop it thinking someone did it :) those were the days.

Anyways great deal on a retro watch. Nice and basic.
#29
So retro! Thanks - have some heat & rep :) can't wait for it to arrive!

You're not the only one lol!

F-91Ws aren't my taste but I can vouch for their durability (excl. strap, just get a better strap) as my uncle wore it for over 7 years without it breaking. The strap stayed fine too.
#31
Bought one of these from Amazon a few months ago for 5.99, great watch and definitely worth this price!
#32
This is the watch equivalent of an aldi carrier bag.

For people who just don't care!

Its for people over 12 that's all. If you can't remember it properly the first time round you won't appreciate it.
#35
Ugliest watches ever, but my last one lasted me 7 years, without ever needing a new battery or strap.
#36
hahaha you got to be kidding me?

This watch was 8 quid ages ago this is never a hot deal.

I got the next model up for £9.99 from Argos. It was a special deal then it is the green one.
This watch is always on me and it's been to so many places with me :)

Probably had it on for 10 years or something like that. I feel naked without it on.
#37
these are great watches I've had one for at least 10 years and apart from a replacement strap (the market watch stall managed to put one on for me although the bloke said casio are an odd size on purpose so you cannot buy replacement straps!) Meanwhile mates have gone through 8 or 9 decent ones!! Mine was only £2.99 a while ago can't recall where but its been in the swimming pool/sauna/spa bath etc thousnad on times and always works. You can always get a good watch for occasions and this for sports etc.

Thanks op
#38
If you think it is ugly splash the cash and get a metal bracelet style casio. I got one for about £22 and it looks great.
#39
this threads waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than that maaaahooosive tv one lmfao at the "this watch is looking for trouble" ha ha ha ha

CASIO the preferred watch of retro-junkies and alleged terrorists everywhere.....

I want one. Err for the first reason!
#40
I've got a similar one with a metal strap (A168). I suspect these are less commonly used by terrorists as they can't justify wasting money on the luxorious model, only to blow it up. I'm tempted to add a comment to that effect to the WIkipedia page, but I suspect the edit police would jump on me faster than you can say "Kaboom!".
