Brilliant deal!!

Any chance you can post the barcode (for local stock checking)?

Very funny. Good deal, thanks

This is a good price, however I wouldn't recommend getting a new calculator just before an exam, use the one you're used to unless it's broken :) That way you won't be wasting time fumbling with the keys and trying to figure out how it works (more applicable to A level).
#5
If you can get me one OP ill pay postage just need the calc and recipt no packaging :)
#6
the 85ES is the solar power version that you might prefer if you never want to change batteries. Costs a bit more though

Receipt?

Surely you wouldn't return a £1 calculator?
Or do you think that the OP is getting them for 99p and making a profit?
Honestly!

These are great little calculators and there is no worry of them not being allowed in an examination. So it's quite the bargain!

Thanks OP.
My DS is going into Year 7 in September & this is the calculator we've been told to get.

I've just finished a Physics degree (on Friday), and I've used this model calculator all the way through. Great calculator, and for a quid, I'll get a spare for the PhD.

Honestly some people can't get the simplest things right. I'll think you'll find that should be 5318008

Hi, can someone enlighten on how to check stock? Went to Sainsburys website but couldn't find anything obvious.

Hot - did they have many more in that store in Glasgow?

I lose calculators constantly

If you own an fx-82es, fx-83es or fx-85es, you can upgrade it to a fx911es, It allows you to integrate/differentiate/solve quadratic equation etc.

1. Check what version you have - on the back, just above the made in China sign, there is a letter in a circle: if it’s a B, unlucky because you can’t do the mod, however if it’s an A you can.
2. Open up your calculator - on the back there are six screws, using a Phillips screw driver, remove these and then lift off the back, revealing the circuit board.
3. Find the P4 jumper - on the circuit board there are six screws, between the middle two is a little white P4, to the right of this is a small split silver circle. Take your graphite pencil and colour this, making sure the whole thing is covered.
4. Put it back together-now put the back, back on and screw the screws into the holes.

This procedure basically makes the calculator confuse itself about which model it is; models only differ at the jumps.

These are 'required' at my sons school. The school charges £5.00 for them. I'll be getting a couple for him at this price. Heat added.

Someone went to sainsburys.co.uk & asked this:

Someone told me that the FX83ES Casio Calculator was £1 in the Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow.
Was wondering if they have any for that cheap in any of the following stores
Sainsburys local Farringdon
Sainsburys Ilford/ Stratford/ East Ham
Savacentre Beckton.

Thank you.

The response from Sainsbury's was this:
Your right with your information, the Casio FX83ES calculator was on offer at the fantastic price of £1 in our Sauchiehall Street store. This was back is November 2009.

I’m sorry but that particular model has now been discontinued. We do however; have a selection of other Casio calculators in stock. On our stock system I’ve found the Casio SL-460L-SUH, which is available for £3.99. This is available in our Beckton, Farrington Local and Ilford stores.

One store only for this deal?

Sounds similar to the Tesco deal the week before (search Casio). Very good deal, but in just one store.
