I dont know many divers who go down 200 metres but I'm sure they'll be glad to know that if they drown at least their watch will survive.

because watches are rated at static pressure you actually need a much higher rating than you might imagine

For example 50m watches are not even recommended for scuba diving, 100m min for scuba

So will I be able to have a bath in this?

Man, I wish my bath was big enough to scuba dive in.

Good price but check how much it costs to have the battery replaced. I had a Casio Mariner 100m and it cost £35 to go back to the factory for a replacement. The high street shops said they couldn't guarantee the watch for the original depth as they didn't have the right testing equipment.

Indeed this is a problem with all water resistant watches - I paid about £35 to get the battery replaced in a seiko watch. It took around 2 weeks to get it back too, also did something similar with a citizen some years back.

I recall last time i checked local shops on phone I think h samuels said they had the equipment to pressure test watch - so they could replace battery and pressure test - but said if it failed they would not have any seals etc to re-seal it - so they recommended going back to manufacturer for new battery.

but I find that the batteries often last longer than claimed - for example the battery in my seiko lasted about 4 years.

I honestly think £35 is cheap to have the battery properly replaced, pressure tested and put back together by a professional who knows what they are doing. Breitling charge around the £150 mark for the same service. Personally I wouldn't put my watch near H Samuel or any stalls in a market/shopping centre if I was going to use it for an activity such as diving where my life could be at risk if my watch stopped due to not being put back together properly.

If the watch costs £35 and getting the battery replaced costs £35, then why not buy a new watch?

Only if you're VERY small.

Argos are selling the casio that is very similar to this for £22.99. It is in the "Big Deal" panflet. Item number 283/7714
It is basically the same watch, in the marlin series or whatever casio call their budget divers style 200m watches. I think its unbeatable value.
