Would these work with the Logitech AIO surround systems? The z906 specifically?

ha, mwaha, mwahahahahahahaaha.

Nice one.

Wait, you were serious?

They will work in the same way that jet fuel will work in a ford fiesta, or a bluray player connected to a 2-inch handheld TV - It's a completely hopeless mis-match - the amp in the logitech is probably driving satellites rated at over 8ohms and only 60 watts per channel, these speakers need high quality amps to drive them, especially if you want to get the best out of them.

Owned by the IAG i.e. Wharfedale, Quad, Mission, Audiolab, Luxman, Ekco and Leak so should be a good buy.

Great price for these speakers.

They sold off some piano black Monitor Audio RX1s for £249 last year so this is probably right - a great clearance deal!
#4
Absolute bargain.
Heat added.

Heat added. Looked at these before going with the Wharfedale Diamond 10.3 (which were going for about the same price) a while back. Couldn't find much in the way of 'official' reviews of these, but discussions about them seemed to be all positive.
#7
True, not much in the way of official reviews. The only one I found was from this New Zealand blog

Call me a miserable, materialistic douche but that alone justifies my not wanting children. That and about a million other reasons X)

My old Mission 782s tweeter dome on one of them has gone and instead of paying for repair I'm tempted to buy a pair. Although without auditioning them and knowing much about them I'm sceptical. But Castle are a quality brand and my understanding is that these are made from real wood veneer, so for the price are seem a steal. Heat added.

Wow, are you being sarcastic, or are you genuinely so pant-wettingly excited to diss someone's deal to realise that the "tesco" one's are actually being sold by the same retailer as the post above? Tesco don't even sell these speakers, you're buying them from Superfi, via tesco as a broker.

I was tempted, but being the owner of two sets of floor standers I think the Mrs would have threw me out if I bought these Castles!

I've got a pair of these. They are beautifully made and for this price sound fantastic. At RRP I would probably look elsewhere but if compact floorstanding speakers are what you want then I doubt you'd find anything that comes close to this deal.

One thing I would say is if you like to play music earth shatteringly loud then they may not be the speakers for you. I'm running mine with an Arcam Alpha 10 amp which is reasonably powerful (can't remember exact output off the top of my head) and I do find when I start to crank it loud you get the feeling they are becoming a little unhappy. These are by far the most compact floorstanding speakers I've owned though so this could be the norm for speakers of this size.

It was Superfi that was selling them through Tesco...you are quoting the same deal! £600 is far from a huge amount for decent floorstanding loudspeakers, certainly not when they are made as well as these. It seems you've added nothing to this thread except perhaps to make yourself look like a little daft for throwing insults at others.
#25
Looks like a cracking deal to me.

I read it as three speakers but only saw a pair in the pic. Must be bedtime.

Little confused here. When you click stock check it says sold out, but still seem to be able to order some...

Never mind. Fails when you click proceed with payment

Being a bit of a Hifi enthusiast...I can assure you Lakey that Castle are a pretty well known and very well respected company in Hifi circles...perhaps you were referring to Castle Cement?

Since when did this become hot bully deals? Either help the guy out with respect or don't say anything.

Some advice please. After using (or abusing) my faithful Logitech X-230's (old version) for a number of years i am taking the plunge and need to choose between the Castle Knight 3 and Tannoy Revolution DC6 Standmounts. Which are the better speakers and which are more suited for me?

At the moment i listen mainly to house music when not listening to DAB through a portable radio. This has not always been the case as my taste continually changes. I am aware that both speakers do not score highly with depth of bass and i appreciate that floor standers generally produce better levels of bass.

In addition if there are any recommendations for suitable amps, i am all ears and appreciative of good advice. Really not looking so spend more than £150 and i love a bargain! :)

Thank you for your advice.
#36
Do you guys think Sony TA-FE210 will be enough to power these speakers? It would be a temporary solution of course, but for the time being if I buy these I won't be able to afford a decent amp.

Qalih didn't reply - presumably because the advice I gave was useful and correct.

That is all.

For the last two commentors, my advice is always to try and listen, you wouldnt decorate a room or buy furniture without seeing it first.

However with HiFi you can normally compensate to a point by carefully choosing the other components in that case buy the speakers, and preferably find a shop that will bring some amps to you, or, lug the speakers to them.
#39
@bradford_dr Sure I would normally do just that, but I thought that the answer may be quite obvious, like in the case of Logitech AIO z906...
