Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow takes place at the end of days. The Earth's alliance with the Heavens has been threatened by a dark and malevolent force - the mysterious Lords Of Shadow - darkness reigns the world. Across this shattered land, the souls of the dead wander unable to find peace, whilst creatures of evil roam free wreaking chaos and death upon the living.

Gabriel is a member of the Brotherhood Of Light, an elite group of holy knights who protect and defend the innocent against the supernatural. His beloved wife was brutally murdered by the evil forces of darkness and her soul trapped for eternity. Neither living nor dead she realises the horrific truth of what is at stake and guides Gabriel to his destiny - and hopefully salvation for the world... but at what cost?

Thus, Gabriel must travel the destroyed world, defeating the evil tyrants in order to use their powers to bring balance back to the world. Armed with the versatile Combat Cross - the world's last hope must encounter the three factions of the Lords Of Shadow and end their unholy rule.

my thehut order is still stuck at 'awaiting stock pick', guess I will not get it on launch day if I stick to the order, hmm...

Powerplay Direct is very good. I order from them often, never had a problem.

This game is apparently quite poor unfortunately.

Yeah looks terrible from the 14 positive reviews and a current metacritic rating of 84 on the PS3. http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/castlevania-lords-of-shadow

There's a demo out now for both consoles. Not tried it myself but have it downloaded for when I have some spare time (a rarity at the moment).

It's supposed to be pretty good surprisingly.

This game is 'gorgeous', the graphics on both consoles are terrific, mind blowing, you just need to stare at the screen to watch the eye popping details, sound is amazing cinematic orchestral stuff, tight combat system and game play that would last around 20 hours for a vampire werewolves slaying adventure, what else do you need in a game! (by the way these were the most positive points that were mentioned in majority of reviews).

Thanks for sharing your experience. Do they ship from channel island or jersey like play.com/thehut/zavvi? Those sites usually take around 4 days to deliver to me. Even they send the game tomorrow there is no way I can get it on launch day.

Shopto and game usually ship from mainland but they are a bit pricey :(

Ha really? The guy you play as already looks quite Snake/Raiden-ish but it is a Kojima game after all.

Very sad - I need a gold xbox live account to download the demo oO

Nevertheless, great deal this early after release!

Games like this Really now normally get Hiped the hell out of Thing that makes you cringe is Mags need the Review ability they get normally if they ain't Panning Games
So you can see how easily reviews can become a very one sided afffair

Sad-to-say reviewers now-a-days have become nothing more than a group of Yes men and not interested in the actual work of giving people REAL ratings for fear they will end up not being allowed to review games from the same manufacturer again

I thought you only needed a silver account to get demos ..I've just gone of the idea of having my live account for awhile after them renewing my account when i told them to turn off the auto renewal previously.

Looks like i'll be buying it on my Ps3 ..voted deal hot :)

The first week demo's are always Xbox Live gold exclusive, after that they're available to Silver members.

Anybody's orders shipped? It seems there's a stock problem or something? I had another order with Argos and fortunately they said they can't get any stock and their pending date is 6th Janurary!
#21
I just placed an order on powerplay but in the confirmation email it shows:
Status: Awaiting re-ordering
Awaiting ordering
The item has been re-entered into our purchase ordering system

I guess they sold out all they pre-ordering copies. I'll ask fr cancellation I think.
#22
should i expire the deal guys?
#23
nothing processed yet for me.
anyone knows about instore prices? (asda, tesco, sainsbury?)
#24
Nothing happening here either, only places selling it really expensive like Play.com are showing as having any stock. Maybe the more expensive you price things, the more consideration the stockists give you ?? Hopefully it's £29.99 or something in Sainsburys... we won't know until tomorrow!
#25
cancelled my preorder. Will see if it is a good price instore, or will wait few weeks that prices drop as winter's blockbusters arrive.
#26
They sent me an email saying that they've not got stock and it would be sent out today with next day delivery for tomorrow. Shame I already cancelled! Sod's law eh :(
#27
price has now gone up £36.49
