Castrol GTX 1 Litre £3.00 INSTORE Asda

Went to Asda in Halifax today to see if they had the 4 litres of Castrol for £10 that's doing the rounds at the moment. The 4 litre bottles were £20, but they had 1 litre bottles of Castrol GTX 15w 30 and Castrol GTX 10w 40 (both part synthetic) for £3 each.

I don't know if this is nationwide and there's nothing online but thought it might help somebody.

Can this be used in chainsaw?

I think in chainsaws you need a two stroke oil with a petrol mix. We had a really good quality saw (stilth) and thats what the manufacturer recommends.

But on another note, i heard about this offer as the store manager announces it over the tanoy as my shopping was being processed at the cehckout

The oil in the two stroke petrol is to lubricate the engine, not the blade.

You can use this to lubricate the blade, but it's not as thick as chainsaw oil so it'll be used a lot faster and probably negate any saving you might have made by buying it instead of regular chainsaw oil.
