Any Castrol Magnatec 4L offers? I was going to pick up 4L's from Halfords but at almost double the price.

Voted hot for the deal itself!

10-40w gtx is better suited to the older engine most cars now run 5-30 5-40 don't just stick it in check your engine spec and oil lubrication details 15 years bmw tech.
#7
is this standard oil or fully synthetic?
#8
As "trackdayking" posted, most modern engines especially new turbo diesels mainly use 5w30 oil or 5w40 oil which are Fully Synthetic, this will suit many older cars, but if your car is 3 years old or newer i would double check the oil grade before you buy. Suzuki Tech

Ok for basic cars over say 10 years old, but not a great price for a basic oil and I never buy Castrol as it comes in 4 litre bottles not the usual 5 litre. They rounded down when we changed from gallons.
#10
Ever since I've had my Corsa (Yr 2000), I've used Castrol Magnatec Part Synthetic, Castrol site recommends me a different oil, am I fine to continue using what I currently use, its served me and my sister well, had the car for almost 4 years.
#11
Stupid size, when a lot of cars require more then 4 litres - but a good price
#12
so guys I have a corsa 1.2 sxi on a 03 plate.... am I classed as having an 'old' car and therefore will this oil do?
#13
4L of mineral oil for about the price of 5L semi synthetic. Your just paying for branding.

Was in tescos on thursday night 4L of 5-30w was just over £16, you could try there first.

I agree with those saying this is a poor size, more cars take about 4.5 litres which means you need a 1 litre bottle as well. Only Castrol screw you like this.

An X5 takes holds 8 litres so that will be 2 x 4L for me!

X5s are driven by pricks.

And how do you like yours?

will this be ok for my 04 plate corsa 1.3 cdti??

the book in asda say 5w30 fully sythetic!
#21
The 5 is more relevant than the 30. If it was petrol I would say go for it. But as its diesel I would stick with the reccomended oil. Which is a shame as fully synthetic oil costs a fortune. Especially 10/40!

Picked up four bottles from Asda Living an hour ago 8)

Picked some up from Asda in Bexleyheath Kent, have loads left both 10-40 and 15-40 semi syn. Voted hot thanks.

Got 2 from Hounslow earlier today thanks. There were only 3 left on the shelf and by the time I passed that section again, the last one had gone too! Along with the Redex, there were a bunch of tyre re-inflater's (or som'ing) also for £2 I think.

I could only see 15w/40 mind you. Did pick up 10w/40 from Tesco on 31st Dec for £11.20...

Just picked up two bottles from the Newcastle under lyme store. Still loads left near the clothes section.

Good price

Don't be confused by the oil snobs, synthetic this, mineral that. I've run cars for years off GTX ....... and I mean for years off the same GTX with no oil change
