How much stronger is the taste, only tried the normal version.

Cheese Tostie anyone? :-D

There's also Pilgrims Choice Mature 400g at £3.99 but it's a BOGOF deal. I didn't see this Cathedral City deal at my local Tesco today but they'd probably sold out.

Cheesy

How mature is this really? Often I find branded mature cheese tastes really bland, really mild. I've had extra mature that I can barely even taste.

These things are pretty much permanently on offer at 'half price'.

Just like the Primafresco (really nice) pizzas at 1.69 'half price', and the 'fabulous bakin boys' products at 'half price' as well.

I know as I've bought for many years and always wait until they're 'half price'. If they're not one week, they most certainly are the next!

Not knocking the cheese though, still good value at this price and quite strong if you remove from the fridge an hour or so before eating. Just don't anyone buy at £4+!

Was never £4.38 anyway. This cheese is always one of the £2 specials or goes back up to a "normal" price of £2.99 to around £3.57 and is also a frequent option on the 2 for £5 cheese selection.

£4.38 ? ? ? ? never in a month of Sundays.

True - I never pay more than £2 for a 400g pack of cheese. There is always a sale on at Tesco / Morrisons / Asda for for some brand of mature or extra mature at "half price"

They're only worth around £2 for 400g.
Taste wise I find cheeses like Pilgrims and Cathedral City a bit plasticky, with no great flavour.
The Tesco Carbery and David Stow are much better.
They appear on offer now and again.
