Region: 0 (Region-free). This is a great price because at christmas they inflate the price.

Next best price is Woolworths @ £11.75. Dont forget any vouchers or Quidco!

In this heartwarming tale, James Stewart plays George Bailey, a small-town young man with dreams and ambitions that are never realised because of his every present responsibilities of work and family. When he is at the brink of despair and on a bridge contemplating suicide, his guardian angel Clarance (Henry Travers) appears and takes him on a journey to show him what life in Bedford Falls would have been like without him.

Rarely this cheap. Great cast, great film, great find. Where's the tissues?
#5
Wow, great price. Next best is nearly three times as much.

Don't buy this!.

The transfer is the worst transfer of a DVD, possibly ever made.

Have a look at the image comparisons between the versions. This is the one on the very bottom, screen capture 4.

Its a superb film and did not deserve this monstrosity of a transfer. Buy the 60th Anniversary edition instead.

I rented this from Lovefilm and couldn't believe how poor the quality of the picture and audio was. I would love to buy this film but would want a better transfer.

Brilliant- thank you for posting - must have bought this 3 times - it keep dissappearing - my daughter also love it and I think she has something to do with them going missing

Just read all of above - I have never had a problem with the ones I have bought - must have been lucky and had the 60th anniversary ones:)

Wow, what a lot of difference in picture quality!! But for the price, and esp for people who haven't a lot of money to splash around, this cheap version still gets the story over

I bought this version from CD Wow last year its an Australian release dvd on a budget label and as already mentioned its not a great transfer at all, I ended up picking up the Paramount release as well (after christmas as it was reduced to 3.99 anyway).

Too late re quality of this dvd, I've already placed an order for it - though emailed Customer Services to see if they cancel it.....

Note the images posted from the cover of the dvd are for the Collectors Edition.

Yes the quality on this has baffled me considering they have only just re-released this yet again in the UK. More fingers up to UK consumers methinks. Shame the cheapest I've seen the US 60th edition is around £12 from a safe supplier before p&p. Also comes in a limited 2 disc version with a glorious colourised version. What were they thinking

Save a further 3.99; record it off the telly! (Although I can't imagine it will be getting broadcast any time soon :whistling: )
#15
Thanks for the comments on the quality of this dvd. I was just about to order so will put it on hold til I find a better one at right price.
#16
I cant find this any cheaper than £8.99 on the website the direct link is not working so I'm assuming they have removed the offer - Not a bad thing given the comments about quality on HUKD. Fab film, it has to be said.
#17
slightly off topic but does everyone know this movie so old its not copyrighted anymore and can be viewed free online?
