Just tried ordering Acer one, showing as pending and payment refused. Weird site. Doesn't feel right (maybe I'm paranoid)

NOT true - taken from the Verisgn website themselves: (click here for more)

SSL Certificates

Cdiscount.com begins to manage payments through their own Web site

Cdiscount.com begins to manage payments on their Web site rather than redirect customers to an external banking site to complete their orders, in a bid to provide better security and an improved customer experience.

Cdiscount.com now uses VeriSign® Extended Validation SSL Certificates to secure the main payment page and to protect 5.3 million active buyers and more than 30,000 sales transactions each day. Building trust and securing these sales are the very reasons why Cdiscount.com chose VeriSign Extended Validation SSL Certificates.

Cdiscount.com is trying to reduce the risk of phishing and improve service to their customers with Extended Validation SSL Certificates. Find out how you can too here (PDF).

Correct. Remember quidco too!

Even if you pay outright, do you get the 15% voucher refund?

the vat discount is just vouchers.

The post did say it was vouchers...

Yup - it's 15% back in vouchers in Jan, on ALL orders irrespective of payment methods.

Can't see any reason why not, its just 15% off a purchase, method of buying shouldn't matter. But surely its better to buy over 3 payments so you can get the goods after payment 1, make sure their OK and then pay the remainder in two lots. No more expensive and a bit of peace of mind.

I just ordered a Samsung NC10 for £299 using the 3 payment option.

I will get £15 via Quidco and £45 into my account in January thanks to the VAT refund

The site doesn't say anything about an end date - but since the refunds are in Jan, I would suppose the offer runs throught Dec - but who knows. It's fairly new tho'.

Would`ve liked to order some things but trying to register is a nightmare:x

Ignore that...for some reason i ended up looking at wrong site in Belgium.
#21
But if they go bust then you cant spend the vouchers anywhere else?
#22
Is their site not loading at the moment or is it just my browser?
#23
I ordered stuff from CDiscount's French site a few years ago. They had things like DVDs for 99p that were selling for £5-6 on ebay.

However, they then stopped posting stuff to the UK.

No - checkout the Samsung Netbook thread today - somone contacted the company to verify - there is NO minimum spend, and they aren't vouchers - it's an account credit - i.e. get £45 credit, and spend it as you like (either in one go, or in stages, or as part of a bigger purchase).

Pretty unlikely - they're much bigger than DSGI and stocks are good.

No problems here - IE7 and FF3.

why does their website state

To say thank you for shopping with us and helping to celebrate our launch we will refund 15% of your total spend. Simply process your order as normal, and on the 1st of January 2009 your account will be credited with vouchers to refund the value of the VAT of your purchase. These vouchers will be redeemable anywhere on the Cdiscount website so you really can treat yourself in the New Year.

I was going off the info posted in the samsung thread, but it's semantics. You say tomato I say tomato.

Whatever amount you get back, call it vouchers or account credit, it's the same thing. Earn £27.24 in vouchers or earn £27.24 in account credit - you STILL get £27.24 to spend in ANY way you like in January with NO minimum spend (which was of course the question I was trying to answer).
#33
look like they just increased it to 50%
http://www.cdiscount.co.uk/home.html

there is very little detail, i just ordered £350 worth of stuff with them yesterday. if so i would like to cancle and re-order now and get back over £150 cashback
