Celerons ARE really really bad processors. Just save up some moola and buy one with better proccessor. It might seem cheap now... but it will be expensive in the long run ( ...with your patience that is !)
Celeron's just a name they've used on several very different processors. There's nothing wrong with them (especially the later ones) unless you want to play games.

This and a free OS (e.g. Ubuntu Linux) and free software (e.g. Open Office) would make a dead cheap laptop. I'm tempted as my £240 (Celeron M) laptop is now 2 years old - so it has worked out at £10/month to own it - and my daughter would like me to pass it on to her!

That was true with the P4 based Celerons, they were terrible. I would look at cpu benchmark results before you post a comment like that these days.

"The Intel T3000 cpu (45nm, 1.8GHz, 800MHz FSB, 1MB cache) - although it is badged as a Celeron it uses a "Penryn" core just like the more expensive Core 2 Duo cpus with half the cache and a bit slower clock speed for a lot less money - it also uses the latest 45nm low power process. The 800MHz FSB also means that the DDR2 memory will run at the full 400MHz rather than 333MHz. The only downside is that is doesn't implement EIST and so the clock speed is always 1.8GHz - if you go up to a Pentium T4200 cpu then this will clock down from 2.0GHz when it is idle." brookheather.

..and the same SuperPi score as a Intel T7100..and a better score on 3DMark.

Infact it is a perfectly good cpu indeed, perfect for Windows 7 x64.

However the laptop it's self looks nasty!
That Celeron will urinate over the dual core atom chip any day, the chip is fine for almost anything (including HD video via software decode) bar gaming which is fine for a laptop.
Looks like a good deal to me.
Not a bad price if you already have an OS to use. As for people wondering what make it is it's produced by Clevo. They are a OEM maker.
keyboard a la Sony or Mac :) .Clevo is a decent maker
