Half cost?
Don't bother, it won't work.

A good price, but never heard of the brand, any reviews?

This site makes me laugh, as a forum user you can't post links to ebay - even if it is BRAND NEW and from an outlet shop such as argos etc, but you can post deals for refurbished/second hand gear (so long as its from a shop) without even mentioning it in the title or description.
If an item has been opened/seal broken it is no longer new regardless if it has been actually used, the next person to buy it after it has been opened is the 2nd user - hence the term '2nd hand' and the reason businesses are NOT then allowed to sell it as new.
You can can use any term you like to describe this stuff (or not even bother in this case), but at the end of the day it IS 2nd hand - there's nothing wrong with this so long as you are informed in the title, a fact most posters seem to forget, and that includes moderators.
The worst thing is, without it being in the title that the item is refurbished etc - it's FALSELY heated up by people thinking its cheap for something NEW, not everyone reads right through a thread, nor do they actually visit the retailer - in this case I can't even see from the link that it is refurbished, the only time you see it is IF you come out of the section and find it in the 'refurbished electricals' section!.
There is so much of this stuff surfacing on here, perhaps it may be time to open a new section for this stuff - just so people know what they are buying/voting on.

Nothing wrong with these i bought the 19" one a few months back and it was brand new and unused, was only £96

Nothing wrong with "refurbished" items if you are making a great saving, ive added refurbished to the first post to make it clearer as i agree it should be mentioned

thats all well and good - as long as you know your buying a refurb! This link takes you straight to the page and doesnt say nothing about it being refurb, its only the sub menu where I found out it was.

Personally I wouldnt buy a refurb and certainly not from half cost (even though I am a fan)

You are knowing you are getting a refurb if you go through the Halfcost homepage they are not hiding the fact, if you want to pay alot more just for opening the box first then thats up to you, myself i prefer to save the money and put it towards something else

Couldnt be more clearer>

"Audio Visual > Grade A Refurbished Electricals
Ex Home shopping returns, fully inspected & with 12 month guarantee"
http://www.halfcost.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=11&categoryId=11903&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=11901&top_category=11901

I bought the refurb 19" for £93 delivered and it was obviously brand new. Must have some kind of problem with stock allocation.
