I know this will probably go down like a lead balloon because it has a limited audience, but the Easter holidays next year for Welsh and English schools are not the same in certain areas (please check with your local authority first!). This means that the price for the first week of the Welsh holidays (29th March - 2nd April 2010) is less than half that of the following week.

I've just booked a mid-week break for 4 adults and 2 children in a woodland lodge at Elvedon for £319. (Longleat I believe is £399) The following week is £669 (Longleat £769) for exactly the same break.

These places fill up fast, especially the closest to South Wales, Longleat Forest. So get in early.

Also, you need only pay a £100 deposit now, the remaining balance to be paid in Jan 2010.

The problem is that English schools break up during that week as it is good friday on 2nd and most are having a couple of training days before so get in quick.!
#4
well spotted hopefully all holidays that week will be cheaper. ideal for those of us in Wales, thanks

Also Easter weekend in England is the 2nd April and they are also heavily reduced at the moment I booked last week for Elveden over Easter Bank Holiday, and remember if you have pre paid already for a holiday this year you can book using your repeat visit (cannot do this online) and they will give you free insurance and money off vouchers for the village hth xx

I live in Nottinghamshire and our school hols start Mon 29th Mar 2010...hence our local park (Sherwood Forest) is very expensive (£600+ for a comfort +)...however, I booked Elvedon for that week for less than £200! So I'm guessing the school holidays in Suffolk must come a week later!
Bargain!

Spring term in Swansea ends on Thursday 1 April NOT 29 March, so not as hot as suggested! I recommend you all check with your local authorities for term dates before booking.
#8
Yep, Neath Port Talbot also finishes 1st April so over £600 for me... You sure about those dates youve got OP?
#9
I am not getting anywhere near that price! Cheapest i have found 4a 2c is £399 for a comfort

Did u put in a special code?

Newport, s.wales term ends: 26 Mar 2010
term starts: 12 April 2010

Did u book Elveden Forest?

Good spot - having been to Longleat three times I can recommend it highly....at the right price! Peak time pricing for Centerparcs holidays is way over priced for what it is however and the queuing at the Jardin du Sport is not commensurate with the idyllic holiday setting that Centerparcs try to portray.

If you want to pay to spend a weekend in what has now become a glorified airport departure lounge, with piles of dirty crockery everywhere and sticky unwiped tables, then you go right ahead. I used to love CP but it's sold out to the pack 'em in/rip 'em off mentality.

Yeah, I did as we have family that lives close by. I've amended the first post to include this, thanks

Yes, deffo a good idea, check first. But yes, these are the holidays in Cardiff, my wife works in the school too, so we are always battling to get cheap holidays.
#13
I can't get that price..

2Ad's and 2 Children @ Longleat coming in at £399 (Midweek 29th March 2010 4 nights)

May still book it up though...

Damn you leek eaters, first free prescriptions, now cheap holidays :whistling:

Bluestone is cheaper and (in my opinion) nicer - plus it's all new so isn't run-down and dirty. Still, Center Parcs is good for a short break so if you can get this price then it's a good deal.

Thanks for the heads up about the different dates as it is a lot cheaper than the next week.
However I've tried using both codes from the vouchers section SAVECP (detailed here) & CPWEB and also no code and all the prices come up the same. Has anyone got the codes to work?
#20
You can go to Elvedon for weekend 24th April this year, 2 bed woodland lodge for £364. Using code CPWEB. We have an inset day at school on 27th so perfect for us!

Codes only work for selected offer dates.

Same for Neath Port Talbot college so no bargains to be had.

just checked bluestone on the web, very nice never even heard of it till you said, cheers:thumbsup:

i too cant find any codes that work for next year but someone may be lucky and find that one of these may work for them:-
PRES09
DMV16
PPPZ
CBSOON- you will need confirmation that you are rebooking perhaps get a friend to book for your if they have recently been?
PSB9

Still honestly think that a 2 bed at Longleat for 2 adults and 2 kids for mon29th March -fri is over priced , at 399.00 blue water is way over that.........

I think this is an excellent post and documents to me the need to get next years holiday list ASAP!

Like so many HUKD's this will not apply to everyone in the country, but still needs to be posted.

Assuming our School Hols are as this year, maybe it's worth noting which areas (aside from all of Wales!) have earlier hols and try to book the last week of Easter there - In theory, the 2nd weeks of England Schools Easter Hols should be cheaper in Welsh resorts!

Centre Parcs need to credit crunch a little and bring their prices down however....
#25
Thanks for posting. I live in Yorkshire and our schools finish for Easter 26th March too. Just booked Whinfell. For exactly the same villa at Sherwood Forest that week, it's £220 more!
#26
I booked CP Longleat last week for Easter next yr 29th March Midweek break in 2 bed exec lodge at longleat at 429 as hubby prefers this one - mentioned the SAVECP code and CPWEB code to guy on the tel. and he says there aren't any discount codes avail for next year. Still better priced than Sherwood - prefer longleat but bit hilly but got the road train and Elveden don't like the plane noise...
#27
sorry guys but it looks as if they have now put up there prices to reflect wales easter half term aswell as englands!.....................................
#28
we booked when the prices were lower ( thanks to someone posting this link :) ) as we in Bridgend have the earlier holidays

booked a 3 bed comfort plus @ Elveden for £309 ( is £659 for the week after!)

been to Longleat twice before, but this was much more expensive! lol
so going to try Elveden this time

will share the cost with 2 friends ,so even cheaper :)

Bluestone is near when I am from, and don't know what dates you are looking at ..... but very expensive / more so than CP's from what I have searched for ( school holidays / weekends)

I managed to book a new woodland lodge at whinfell for 4 bed 2 storey detached for £450 a few days ago just after this post was posted so thanks to voucher boy for the post. Have checked the website today and the price has now gone up to £550 so you do really have to get in early, luckily my children break up that week. The only thing is dont think I can wait a year to go so will be looking around to see if any other deals come up, stayed at Sherwood in January in one of the new woodland lodges and they are really lovely would recommend paying a bit extra as they are all still quite new.
