Challenge is a true name to contend with....for Uber [email protected]! http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductLargeImagePopup?storeId=10001&jsparm=true&imageName=129-3321377iA69UC453376X.jpg&imageText=Colours+may+vary.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This would be bad enough without being an intentional folding bike! Watch out!!

About the only slightly redeeming factor about this bike is that it at least has shimano 18 speed gears (whether that means just derallieur, chainset or gear cog sprocket though is all down to description!)

Steel framed weight with cheap suspension and cheap brakes, what an unpleasant riding experience this would be, a deal is only a deal if its actually worth something, unfortunately these cheap bikes are totally false economy.

I'm after a folding bike to ride to the station on in the morning,
leave the bike chained up and (hopefully) ride home again, and the folding option is a plus as the bike can then go into the hallway, are there other options at this price???

Buy a Brompton instead. It may cost a tad more but it'll last a lifetime.

Personally, I wouldn't buy any bike at that price, especially not a folder.

You are only going to get the cheapest components possible, then add in that the frame (THE most important component) is inherently weakened by the folding mechanisms, then I would expect something to fail.

ah but the beauty of the argos bike is that i wont look like a city nerd with all the reflective gear,

I had one of the city bikes and used it for a couple of months, I hated getting on the train with it, I always seemed to be in someones way and then when I stopped at traffic lights (yes one of the few who do) others fellow fold up bikers would nod at me like we were in some kind of secret fold up bike gang, that was the last straw for me,

Buy an Argos bike then, seems though you would prefer an impractical heavy bike that would lead to an unpleasant riding experience over a more practical bike that you had before..I think you will find that cyclists just do nod at each other anyway a sign of acknowledgement.

Or for that matter if you have the unlikelyhood of seeing a chav take off on it as you step off the train you have more chance of beating him at running to gain back your bike :)

Or getting the pieces back off him when he's gone down the big hill outside of the station and it's had a major component failure, throwing him and the bike into a mangled heap. :whistling:

 Fake burberry cap tumbling over on the ground in front of him. Doesn't this bike already have major component failure (at least in design and quality) from the outset ;-)
