Decent read but I found it a bit heavy going compared to Newswipe - grindingly pessimistic and sarcastic. Made me want to throw book in disgust at the antics of those described rather than just laugh as in the tv show. Nevertheless an intelligent if depressing insight into our tv media.

Great book - I picked up a copy of this and another of his books for £3 in Fopp recently.

Charlie Brooker is brilliant. Heat added.
Did anyone see his one-off Gameswipe? It's very good.

Truly great set of articles - perfect for public transport.

One of the lines which made me fall of my chair was in relation to Sid Owen, Ricky from Eastenders fame. Something along the lines of "His miserable monkey face first adorned our screens in 1989 and fate has been pishing in his eyes every since".

Gameswipe was magnificent.
The 2 Scottish blokes eulogising about 8-bit games had me collapsing with laughter: 'you play a middle-aged man trying to avoid his wife'
Brooker is a legend.

If anyone is a fan of Doug Stanhope (the miserable American on Newswipe) he is doing some dates in London in early September. I've got my tickets already - should be good.
