The name alone doesn't guarantee that it will be a decent wine. Best doing your homework and checking the vintage reviews before buying.

Now just to find a good white to go with it...

CNDP that start at £10 in my experience have all been pretty rubbish. As already mentioned best to do your homework as the name alone doesn't guarantee quality. I've had this a while ago and wasn't great tbh, better putting that £5 into a nice merlot or bordoux. Heat for the saving though.
fine wine
As far as I'm concerned the wine snobs can carry on putting this down. All the more for me.
We all have our own opinions which aren't necessarily fact.
I think this is hard to beat for a fiver.
Won't give 2 hoots about its vintage after a bottle n'arf.
I bought a bottle of this at about £7.50 a while back and to be honest it isn't great. Its just priced up because of the name. A good saving though if you just want a cheapish bottle of red.
Nice bottle heat added ;)

I've had Chateau Neuf before and was largely indifferent, but we picked up a bottle over Christmas from Asda, it was as nice as any wine I've ever had. Then I bought another from Lidl and it was a bit dry and flavourless.

It's a region, not a brand, there are hundreds of varieties and they're not all the same. Still, £5.25 is very cheap even if it's a bit of a ropey one.
