Tesco Finest Chateauneuf du Pape, one of my favourite wines and also a great present at any party, can be purchased for £5.33 delivered from Tesco Wines.
It currently is discouted from £10 a bottle to £6.17 a bottle, but using a discount code got the price down further.
The order I placed was for 3 cases (18 bottles) which comes to £110.97. As it's over £99 it's free delivery.
I also used the code XX-CERT to get a further £15 off.
If you've not had this wine before, then the Tesco version is excellent.
What our wine expert said...
"From the southern Rhône Valley, close to the historic city of Avignon, Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of Frances best known wines, and up to 13 different grape varieties can be blended to produce it. Tesco is mainly Grenache and Syrah, with a small proportion of other varieties. Grenache is widely planted in the southern Rhône and produces herbal-flavoured wines that are full-bodied, although relatively light in colour. This rich, soft, but powerful wine is from the well-known Caves St Pierre near the small town of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its a great match with turkey, duck and goose but it will also go well with nut roasts."
Storage instructions: This wine is ideal for drinking now but can be kept for up to 6 years
