Good price, if I didn't have a PS3 already then I'd probably get one of these.

It's a Pio though so it's a good sign that the prices are coming down.

Scan are also taking preorders for a LG 4x Blu Ray writer for £233, a saving of around £80 from the normal non-today only price/SVP price.

The blank media is too expensive right now though.

yeah this is completely not worth it unless its for a professional me thinks

There's a dual HDDVD/BD reader coming out soon for around £200 btw, and a BDwriter/HDDVDreader for £250.

Media for these as backup will be stupidly expensive for a while yet, it's still only being produced in small quantities.

Cheap you havin a laugh...When its £30 quid then you can say its cheap...

But at the moment they are still taking the P**s

Well my first DVD burner was £160 but at least the blank discs were only £1

I'll probably just wait until a pioneer Bluray burner comes out.
#8
My first DVDRW was £220, at discs were £1.50 each.

Tempting, but I would have to get an HDCP compatible monitor and graphics card.

£10 a disc is still cheaper than any PS3 or Blu Ray film right now however.

I would never touch 1st generation hardware, best waiting a few months for a hardware revision before taking the next gen plunge.

Not when you take into account the fact that you have to pay for the recording hardware, plus the PS3 won't run game backups and I can get Region A Blu-ray originals for £10 anyway.

No I don't, it's a reader, not a burner.
