TXTS TO OUTSIDE UK 15p/TXT
plus 3 Magic No.s and Orange Wed 2 for 1

These are just few examples, the complete list can be found by clicking more details on Camel Package. (Its better Than the old Call Abroad Tariff as the call charges to many countries have been reduced and call to helpdesk is also normal i.e. 25p and not 70p as on Call Abroad Tariff.)
Remember to ask for Camel at Registration if you want to benefit for the cheap call rates from UK to other Countries. Existing Customer can switch to Animal Packages too from today

ALSO I REALLY WANTED TO PUT THIS ON A DIFFERENT POST BUT TOO LAZY, TODAY ALSO WAS THE LAUNCH OF WHITE HTC TOUCH ON PAYG FOR £149.99

I am not a workaholic nor particularly keen of Orange but do seriously think this would help people who Call Abroad From UK a Lot. and some heat would not go miss
;-))

Have some heat and rep- the last package is a good deal for PAYG mobile costs abroad- actually better than most contract prices I've seen

Does this apply to existing customer?

I like the phone... but am on O2. Think these are impossible to unlock as well? :(

I don't know about this. Mine came unlocked even though bought on an O2 contract - maybe they all do? Or maybe you are right. There seem to be a lot of websites offering unlocking software for this model. I know that's no gaurantee it will work, but if you're really interested you could give one of them a call to see if they've had success.
Anyway, this is a great deal for a phone which costs in the region of £250 in the black version. Heat and rep added.

Windows Mobile phones are usually very easily unlocked. Take a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328221

Well, not the best plans, cos they have rid off bonus top-up rewards, minimum call charge has gone to 20p.To call abroad best to use DialNow.com,i am calling to germany a lot,the minute cost is 0.005 euro to landline, some countries are free to call.Great connection, superb call quality.
#9
Thanks - will look into it! :)

I've had an HTC touch on orange for about 3 months, Fabulous phone/PDA which will run tomtom etc albeit with a seperate GPS receiver. Well recommended at this price on pay as you go!

well with bonus top up u used to get only a £1 back for £10 top up (max £25 for £50+ top up but thats a minority as ppl would rather get a contract than spending £50 on a payg) and compare it with Canary u get 120 min (eve and wknd) for £10 top up (worth £24 @ 20p/min) to any network/landline, so I blv much better than the old btu

True the costs have gone to 20p/min but at the moment of financial problems i blv every network is looking forward to increase call charges (I know virgin already has)

And yes you can use lot of alternatives to call abroad on internet but Camel package is a killer for someone who just wants the ease and box standard use of a phone w/o registering with the third party calling srvcs/card companies. Also don't forget that if you are not on a contract you will also be paying local call charges /min for the local prefix!! (that would be 20p/min and then the third party call charges). So hardly comparable!!

Thanks ;-)

Had a look at the HTC Touch and surprisingly no 3g which rules it out for me, though it does come with wifi and bluetooth.

Well its complicated if you want all, but once you make up your mind and stick to one, I dont think its over complicated unless you are thick enough!

I laugh at how they can call 50MB unlimited. 50MB isn't really very much. If you think about it... pages like facebook are very picture intensive, easily 1-2MB spent each time you visit your profile page.

What does that equate to? Accessing your FB page 25 times in a month .. sorry, that's not unlimited. That's very limited.
#19
As for calling abroad .. get a cheap contract on 3, add £5 a month for data and use skype or vyke.. Calling at 1-2p per minute worldwide. Plus access the full internet with the data plan... not limited to 50Megs either.

That way you won't have to top up by a minimum of £30+ every month - which is equivalent to the most expensive contract phones.

At 20p/min call charges, a £20 top up on dolphin will only get you 100 minutes talk time. Yikes! My opinion is that this is a cold deal.

Depends if they route it though an image compression proxy first like some of the networks do for the USB modem/Dongles.

Agree. If you use opera mini 4, the data transferred is greatly reduced. However, by accessing a proxy, you're no longer accessing the FaceBook site directly, so I would gather than it's not included in the 50MB.

Well I am pretty sure each facebook, myspace, and bebo has a mobile version, I agree 50 MB is not enough if you are accessing the full flesh site but this is meant to be for the mobile versions which has much less data/adverts and compressed pics

Again for the cheap calls outside UK, as I said earlier if you want a contract or already on a contract than yes u can use skype or even third party calling companies (to call pre local no. off your free minutes) but the whole idea for posting this is to benefit ppl who cannot get a contract w/o paying a hefty security or who just like to be on PAYG!

Marian, i think you're taking this a little too personally. The debate here is whether it's a good deal. Paying over the odds purely because you like PAYG does not, in my opinion, constitue a good deal. Everyone has something to bring to the table based on their experience.

How can i possibly see this as a hot deal when i can achieve the same result through spending less? (not talking about the HTC here)
#26
Also, are the calling abroad charges in addition to the 20p per minute call charge? Assuming you're out of inclusive minutes.

No the call charges are just what you pay per minute NOT including 20p/min. There are no inclusive mins on Camel anyway (even if there were, they are always UK only). And yes you are right in saying that everyone brings the best deal on table. all i am saying is that it is a good deal for PAYG. Peace! :-)

Unless they bring out something new but if you are one of this or even old one, you stay on that unless you ask to change so rest assured u will be on this till you want

To be honest I myself has an O2 contract and Orange PAYG, O2 PAYG deals are at par complicated as Orange (similar deals as Your country and free txts), so no offence. Peace.

If you put a page onto bebo/myspace etc that opens a search engine in a window - this could mean unlimited net access in a pointlessly small window.

Its Orange - you need to deal with their customer service.

Hello,

Orange have an awful lot of issues lately on PAYG issuing free texts I have had a lot of bizzare behaviour. topping up, being told I don't qualify but they will give me an extra 48 hours, being told 3 different dates for the cut of point, text for magic numbers saying i topped up this month, text for free texts saying I haven't, a random 700 free texts appearing in my account for 3 days and then today finally a text saying I had qualifed for free texts (over a week late) and giving them to me!

Perhaps due to implementing these updates in the system.

My main concern is it says only 2 orange Wednesday's per month? Are they cutting down on this? I use it every week!! They better not change it, it's the only reason i stay, If they do i am ******ing off to a better network.

I love how a deal being posted always somehow manages to upset people and start arguements heh.

But anyway do people already on orange PAYG need to upgrade to one of these? I really don't wanna lose my orange wednesdays every week! that will put me out of pocket by 14 squid!

Hi,
yeah i know, I am trying hard not to upset anyone and proposing peace to everyone, but still having a hard time, never mind

yes if you want one of these you can call 343 to switch over, for orange wednesdays as far as i am aware its availaible as normal. Dont know what exactly it means when it says 2 Orange Wed for Dolphin and 1 orange wed under Canary, will try to fine when I next work (Saturday), hope it helps

Peace proposals? I just thought that was the 'in' thing to say ... like back in the 70s. :p

Peace!

I moved onto the Camel a few days ago, made some international calls .10p / min. All OK
Called today the same numbers and it charged me 0.20p / min . I called customer services (it costs 0.25) and they have no ideea why they overcharged me. They said that they would call back.

I am very angry.
