Great deal - if you change the mouase option you can get it even lower (£217.44), though it warns of a compatibiloity issue. Fine if you already have a keyboard and mouse lying around tho.

Dave.

You wont get away with no mouse, it wont let you check out without one selected, even if it did dell would phone and ask you to change it.

The mouse option does work - kind of.
I removed it and it let me go through to order (last week).
Had an email asking me to add 'a' mouse which I did for £5 (Premium version)
Originally option removed £17, so all in all a price reduction of £12 or so!

Me too. MikeT where are the dell deals today?

What are peoples opinion on the Dell printer, £35 + vat seems very good ? Presumably there is an issue getting cartridges for them ??

Many thanks

There are none...sorry.

The 2 Dimension 9200 deals I posted last night are the only changes worthy of note this week. I could have stayed in bed this morning for all the good getting up did me. Most dissapointing Dell!

In fact this offer is a good way to get a 20" monitor.

If you deselect the hardware support to a minimum the price goes down to £235.07.

If you then select the 20" monitor the price only goes up to £282.07.

The monitor is available for about £190 on non-Dell sites (£237 on Dell site)

So you are getting a basic system unit for less than £100, which is not bad.

I don't want to throw cold water on this but did you get a PDF to confirm the mouse was only £5?...as far as I am aware (from friends who did the same as you) the premium mouse was £5 in addition to the £15 or so for the basic mouse.?(in the email it had a + sign next to it..it was very confusing)

Hi Twinkle, yes I will call today - I thought I was on to a good thing but maybe you and MikeT are right - will have to check by phone !!

Hi jomppa
Good idea..hows your order progressing in the system?
#13
Surely Vista won't work with only 512MB of RAM? Well ... barely run.

I've just ordered a C521 but with a few upgrades. It's now 19" Widescreen Monitor, I ordered the 4400 processor and 2GB of RAM with the Premium Version of Vista.

Worked to around £370.

How quiet do these run?

Looking to replace my NAS with a server, this would be ideal as spec dosen't need to be top but noise needs to be kept low low low! (And size)

I believe they are basically a lexmark and not the cheapest refils to find - I only every bother with HP, Canon or Epson

Hi Guys
i just configured this with the 5000+ processor and 1 gb ram for £317. any comments on how good that is (as a deal)? should I wait for a core 2 duo deal around this price mark? I don't want to spend much over £300 mark. Also, this is mostly for general usage with the odd game thrown in.
Thanks

This would be the same price with the 5000+ processor but you get bigger hd,dvdrw and widescreen monitor.D07C12 enter this code into both evalue boxes

So if the floppy drive/memory card bay is vacant, I can install a second hard drive?
#19
wow thanks gibbajabba. Still, any comments on whether I can realistically expect a core 2 duo 4xxx or 6xxx series for about the same price in the next week or so?

I had the same issue with the mouse config last week.
I got the same e-mail about adding a mouse (£5 for premium one)
I just replied saying I didn't want a mouse as I already had one.
Got back a reply within a few mins with an 'ok' and a pdf with the machine at the price minus the mouse (-£17)

thats the million dollar question- i am really chomping at the bit for next thursday

Good deal...and how is your order progressing?
#23
Both orders in Pre-production and the guy on the phone said he didn't know
about the mouse
I really wanted to upgrade to 22" for both orders and he said 'no' as the orders were in Pre-production - a bit weird as the monitors can't be made there??
He just said he would give me 10% off the total order when it had been delivered.
But I still don't know what happened with the mouse but am not complaining
I will have to wait for the delivery and then see what my Bank account says

To be honest this code (posted on HUKD recently) seems to be better than this one irrespective of the processor chosen.
