The question is... do I NEED The Last Starfighter in High Definition? :)
Isnt that the first film to seriously (but badly) use CGI?

'You must defend the star league against kurrr and the kodan armada' sad....

Maybe watch it before the sequel comes out.
Tremors and fear and loathing are good HD conversions

The HD transfer on that is meant to be quite poor, I'm afraid!

I had to remind my self that I don't have ANY HD or blu-ray player !? before I ordered !? LOL
Great deal, just bought Shaun of the Dead. Heat added. Shame it's not UK based though, already having to wait ages for my Transformers.
Thanks - great prices!
Whats the delivery like? Is it from UK or abroad?
I've ordered loadsa times. Give it 10 days at the most. I've never normally had to wait more than a week.
Cheers :D Big Lebowski and Fear and loathing ordered :D
The problem I find with Movietyme is that they don't let you know if an item is out of stock, they'll just keep you waiting until they've got it in stock and send it on. If it's something I'm after promptly I wouldn't use them but most of the time I don't mind waiting a bit for a good price.

Brillaint deal, have ordered a few myself although I won't hold my breath for a speedy delivery as I ordered Transformers from them last year and it took about 6 weeks to arrive.

I wonder if you get stung by customs though, I ordered 5 for just under £40.

Does anyone know if they ship items singularly?
The question is... do I NEED The Last Starfighter in High Definition? :)

It was that sound kind of reasoning that made me opt against buying an HD player of any format... yet.

Looks a good option for those who already have the tech to appreciate it.

Can't remember the last time I came on to this site and there weren't any HD-DVD deals on the front page or two... :whistling:
Some excellent films there i.e. Carlitos Way, Casino, Chronicles of Riddick, Pitch Black and the like voted hot.

Sorry could not tell you which films are good HD transfers though
Im gona hold out for £3 a disk
i have over 30 blu-rays that i have paid less than £8 each for

so i dont think its that much of a bargain considering its a dead format

id hold out more people
For people that like these prices, there's a guy on Fleabay selling new and sealed HD-DVDs at £7.99 each. It's £2 postage, but there is the option of combined postage discount. Obviously the plus side is that there won't be a long wait for delivery (I assume) and the price is possibly cheaper after you factor in the MovieTyme postage. That guy that's holding out for £3 a disc: hmm, not sure they will be £3 for aaages, which is like waiting for as PS3 to be reduced to £150, by which time it'll be kind of old etc. I dunno. Night, people.
Watched my first two HD discs last night (Lovefilm rentals). Blade Runner was absolutely brilliant, the sound was incredible - especially the music and the sound of Deckard's gun. Even though my subwoofer is out of action the sound was so rich that I almost didn't need it. I absolutely have to buy the 5 disc set now :)

I watched Bourne Ultimatum and was very disappointed. The picture was good but it didn't show the mastery of sound heard in the remastered Blade Runner. The film (dare I say it), was **** - I had been hoping for epic action set pieces but they seemed incredibly tame. I think I only like the first in the Bourne Trilogy.
is there anywhere to find out ratings of transfers from SD to HD, quality wise?

i don't want to get an HD-DVD which isn't a good transfer...

Fantastic! I got the Pianist at £7.99, an absolute steal. Heat & Rep added. There is one good thing about HD-DVD going under, those of us with HD-DVD players can get a great library of HD material at standard DVD prices. This will keep me going for the next year until the final version of Bluray is unveiled, until then Bluray is a still a work in progress and who would want to buy into a work in progress when the players are £300? Chuckle.
