I've got an iphone and i'm sure your right. Tried the stylus from the DS and that didn't work. There are other touch screen phones that use a stylus though.

I was looking for exactly the same thing this past weekend and currys, O2, orange and vodafone stores all said theres no stylus available cause the touch screen is heat activated...

Iphones aren't heat activated exactly rather they use the conductivity of your finger. Hence a DS style plastic stylus won't work. This claims to have conductive properties at the tip so, in theory, it should work on the iphone and itouch.

:whistling: shows you how much high street stores actually know about technology.

This should work well with Inklet for using on a MacBook trackpad.

why would you need a stylus, when your finger is the stylus - also where would you keep it (the stylus, not your finger)?

even i can manage it with my fat fingers

voted cold as it's redundant and not worth any money

Yeah, no kidding!
I mean, the "capacitive touchscreen" is a big selling point of ipods/iphones - surely someone working in an electronics store must have at least heard the term.
How the hell do people think a heat activated touchscreen would work anyway? It's just a preposterous concept and it shouldn't take even a layman much thought to reach that conclusion.

A normal stylus will not work because it's not conductive - these iphone styluses are metal with a conductive mesh tip, which to the iphone looks like a slim finger.

And they may not be essential for an iphone, but I have also considered picking up one of these (before this deal) for use of my Macbook trackpad as a makeshift tablet. They are also helpful for people with long fingernails, when wearing gloves, fat fingered folks and so on. Don't vote cold because you have no use for it :whistling:

i know htc are working on stylus for hero phone etc but while researching for one to use with my hero phone i came across ones that do work with the iphone but they were around £20 and i guess they are useful for some situations so they are out there but rare and expensive !
