Got my renewal through the post for £125 and decided to have a look around.

Swinton offered same policy conditions for £70, so already a saving, however on top of that £35 Quidco + £30 cashback through their own website (code MBSWDI298), making my policy very cheap.

I realize policies are dependant on individual circumstances, however thought I might share in case it helps even one person.

I tried a few quotes with Bennetts via Quidco - and the cashback meant i would be PAID to start some policies (mainly on customs).

I have checked with Quidco and they say that if you apply for the Swinton cashback you are unlikely to also receive the quidco cashback. I took out motor insurance through Swinton last month through Quidco but avoided the Swinton cashback offer as quidco was £15 more. However the transaction has failed to track and I have been advised that it will take up to 20 May for tracking....guess this is so they ensure cashback is only paid once so it seems you'll only get the swinton cashback or the quidco cashback..not both.

I have to second what others are saying about cashback - well worth paying attention to comments and not banking it's a guaranteed rebate. I had a failed Quidco on car insurance as it appears that the tracking cookies used by comparison sites prior to buying through Quidco can 'win' the referral money and result in a QC rejection.

Like all cashback - good offer if it works!

same deal with car insurance but 40 quid i think

Got my car insurance through them and Got £55 from Topcashback + £40 from Swinton. I would recommend topcashback as they also give you bonus on top of your cashback ranging from 1% to 10%! Basically it is free money on to of free money! And you pay no Annual charges or commission! Topdog!

Just bought my insurance online with Swinton using the £30 code. Paid £42 and received an e-mail confirming my policy. However, not yet received the e-mail:

Upon purchasing, the policyholder will be sent an email containing a cash back redemption form (the email will be sent to the email address given in the quote process). This form needs to be printed, filled in and sent back to Swinton Bikes Cash Back Offer, Marketing Department, Swinton House, 6 Great Marlborough St, Manchester M1 5SW in order for a cheque to be sent and for you to receive your cash back.

Anyone yet received this e-mail? And if you have, how long did it take to come through after buying the insurance policy?

Hi Wellfan,
I am a Manager at Swinton but in one of the High Street branches, not the motorbike call centre (Which is in Maidstone, Kent if anyone wanted to know)
On the car insurance cashback, we have done away with the redemption form and just send the cheque in the post. This may be the same with the bike policies.
I can check tomorrow and let you know for sure if you want?

Thanks for that. However, how am I to know that my cashback claim is valid unless I receive the e-mail confirmation that Swinton has accepted my cashback claim? As the cashback is not sent until 90 days of the policy has passed, and if you do not receive it, it will then be a bit too late to chase it up. I would actually prefer to receive some formal notification that my claim is valid. Although I got a good deal with Swinton, I could have got better via Quidco with Bennett's, so will be a bit peed off if Swinton cashback does not come through.
PS Thanks again for your helpful reply. Would be good to get an update from you tomorrow. This policy is for a bike that is possibly never going to move from my garage where it has been sitting for past 3 years (health problems). I just want to maintain my 'no claims' history (as cheaply as possible) for the day I return to biking. I believe to maintain your NCB you have to have a policy valid within past 2 years, and no more than 2 years. My last policy expired in 2007.

My £30 cashback e-mail took 24 hours by e-mail, Quidco tracked as well at £35
