Great deal on mobiles.co.uk for a cashback mobile phone contract. Various options but the best if you've plumped (or are thinking about) one of the recent smartphone PAYG deals is 18 months on Vodafone with 600 mins, unlimited texts, mobile internet and Vodafone Passport which works out as £40/month upfront but you can get 17months(!!!) back via redepmtion.

This works out as £40 for the whole of the 18 months (£2.22 per month) and you can even email the claims off or send them off online so no need for any recorded delivery costs either...seems like an utter bargain. This one is called Vodafone "Your plan 600 + mobile internet".

If you'd prefer to get something up front rather than run the potential risk of cashback claims then you can plump for £340 auto cashback (or PS3/Xbox elite/Sony Vaio etc)instead of the cashback altough these are nowhere near as good value.

You do get a phone chucked in as well - the Nokia 1661 - but that's just a token gesture on the phone contract really which is the crux of this deal.

There are also a couple of options at 11 months free on12 month contracts (300 mins + Unlim texts for £35 total after cashback, or 900 mins + Unlim texts for £45 total after cashback for 12 months, or 900 mins + Unlim texts + Mobile internet & Passport for £50 for 12 months total after cashback)

Note that there is also £50 cashback for new phone contracts via either Quidco or Topcashback for mobiles.co.uk - effectively this could mean you're being paid to take out these contracts!

On the same phone there is also a 17 months free deal on an 18 month contract on T-mobile, works out as £25 for 18 months for 300 mins + Unlimited texts. Might be slightly less risky as has a lower monthly cost - although no mobile internet compared to the one above.

Are mobiles.co.uk part of a larger group?

Yes, a subsidiary of the carphone Warehouse

I will not risk that much cash back with a company that has quite poor reviws

Ive used them for 2yrs now never had a problem. Being part of cpw de-risks it. You can email the bills off or use their online form which is handy. People only tend to write reviews if they've had problems or if the company have done something good out of the way.

There's also £40 Quidco which I've got before no probs, and there's codes to get free gifts (I've had bluetooth headsets before).

Blimey only 39 degrees!? Thought this would have been scorching hot by now. It's a while since we've seen such a high proportion of free months on cashback deals as far as I know.
I guess the cold votes are from those that have trouble claiming stuff back on the required dates. Yes you have to be organised - but how hard is it to put a diary entry in the phone or on your calendar?

My contracts just finished with mobiles.co.uk, and the cash redemption went really well

Ordered 3 of these contracts for the family, £2.22/month (hopefully £150 cashback)! Many thanks to the OP! Heat added gladly. Best deal by far this year.

Glad it's helped you out. I thought it was/is a good deal. Good luck with the cashback!

Does the following T&C mean that I would not be eligable for cashback if I were to sell the bundled handset and use the SIM in my existing old phone? I can't really see how they could tell I'd done this.

Reasons Cashback Will Not be Paid
- You do not remain on the original tariff with the original handset and number (or ported).

Also does anyone know if the mobile internet quota included in the tarriff is limited to GPRS data or if you can use 3G (...assuming you are permitted to put the SIM in a handset that has this capability without voiding the cashback terms).
#11
I think that is intended to cover renewing your contract e.g. half way through to get an upgrade(d) handset. Although obviously the network can tell which handset you are using to connect to the network mobiles.co.uk have no knowledge of this. All they need to see is that the original contract is still active and paid up-to-date by you sending off copies of the bills at the right time.
I don't know the answer to the GPRS/3G internet question. On the T-mobile website it states a fair use policy of 1Gb per month for pay monthly tariffs with internet bundled but doesn't specify GPRS/3G.

Presumably the data usage would not include having the SIM tethered to a laptop, nor BIS usage. Is there a fair usage policy stated anywhere ?

yes on the T-mobile website you'll find the fair usage policy, pretty easy to find. And no it does not include data tethered to a laptop...blimey asking a bit much for £2.22/month aren't you ;-)

Thanks OP.
Been waiting for this type of deal since M2YD stopped.

Looking at the mobiles.co.uk site this morning the point the original post should say
"18 months on Vodafone with 600 mins, unlimited texts, mobile internet and Vodafone Passport which works out as £35/month upfront but you can get 15 months(!!!) back via redepmtion."

Which is still worth some heat !

The deal I originally posted is still on there. There's lots of variations but 17 months free on an 18 month contract at £40/month seemed the best of the bunch to me (it's listed 7 up from the bottom of the list of Vodafone deal options at the link supplied, and is called "your plan 600 + mobile internet (18 months)").

that 17 months @ £40 does not show up if you go via quidco (as I did)
Oh well, I'll just have to take out a second one to lower my spend to £2.22 instead of the £3.05 the one via quidco cost.

I was wondering about this so i just called vodafone CS. The lady checked to be sure and returned telling me that you can use the sim with a laptop but to be warned that if you do go over the monthly allowance, there will be heavy charges. She said that one customer had been using a sim on his laptop and racked up a £27,000 bill!!

So in short, given the information i received, yes you can tether the SIM but keep an eye on your usage.

Via quidco it doesn't show immediately if you search for the 1661 but look underneath the Vodafone tab at the top of the list of contracts. Click on 'Show All' and you'll be able to see all the contracts there, or 12/18/24 months whichever you prefer to see contracts of those lengths. :)

This deal is too good to be true. I'm unsure whether to go for the 900/12months at £50 or the 600/18month for £40. I'd like the extra minutes but after 12 months i may rue my decision when i see higher contract prices.

edit - Thanks for posting this deal tuckeral. Have some rep!!!

Gone for 2 x Orange 40 Panther (£40pcm on an 18 month contract - 600 x-net mins+unlimited texts+unlimited data with 17 months free by redemption)

2 x £50 Quidco, sell the phones on Fleabay and use our current phones.

Happy days.

Is there an option to get blackberry data allowance instead of the standard internet?

In a word - No.

Note also if you're not interested in the mobile internet bundled deal mentioned then e2save also do an 18 month contract with 17 months free for £1.67 effective after cashback redemption (Vodafone with 300 mins & unlimited texts). http://www.e2save.com/mobile-phone/contract/nokia/Nokia-1661-Black.html?network=all e2save are also on Quidco and topcashback.
I've done a cashback contract with e2save on the past and had no problems.

My only issue is - how do they expect you to stay with the same NOKIA 1661 handset on a contract that has an internet bundle???????????????????
All my previous cashback deals with other companies had the same caveats but there were never any internet options on my previous deals.

They don't expect you to use the 1661. It's just a token gesture. You can use the SIM in any phone without affecting cashback.

Has now expired at 17 months free on the 18 month contract....it's now 16 months free instead....not as good a deal - but still great value!
And there are still a couple of options at 17 months free on an 18 month contract without bundled internet.
#26
