Some of these may even be brand new, if people brought them from Gamestation and sold them to CeX for like a £1 or £2 more.
#2
Hostel - Part II Unseen Edition (18) BR £4
Step Brothers (15) BR Budget Version

Got some recently and they were in good condition for the price, but fingermarked and boxes tatty.

Have to say looks like even more have been lowered to £5 or so - many are great films and at least double the price new! I remember trading in man on fire for £9 a few months ago - Ive no idea why cex have reduced so many...

Yeah, I imagine that may be the case with some of the boxes, but I would presume anyone who uses this site knows the deal with CEX. Fingerprints can be removed, and you could always pick up some brand new Blu Ray cases online for pennies, if I'm not mistaken!

Will shortly be adding in the £6 titles too- there's plenty of them!

EDIT: £6 titles added... Phew!

I'm hoping Blu-ray isn't going the way of HD-DVD, seems to be a lot of shops either not stocking or selling them off cheap :(

Yeah I never purchase anything from cex if I either want it in great condition or really need it - as sometimes they litterally don't deliver, but generally they are pretty good and if something was that bad I'd just send it back - usually they are picky when taking in blus/ps3 games anyway, but that doesnt stop them manhandling the discs themselves!

Three for the £6 pile are the newest fast and furious film, australia and the day the earth stood still - 3 recent (ish) films.

EDIT - Budget btw will mean no digital copy/single disc/rental versions. Having said that I traded in my copy of "The International" and didnt give the digital copy disc yet still got the normal version buy price, so don't think they'll be any different in most cases!

I did have The Day The Earth Stood Still in there, but have added Australia and Fast & Furious- cheers!

Thanks also for the clarification about budget versions, that was my next port of call, asking if if anybody knew about that.

I'm no expert, but I doubt it! The way of HD-DVD would be to lose out to another format- and there isn't one, not physical anyway. If there's no Blu Ray, then there's no physical media for HD anymore. HD is in high enough demand now and online streaming/legal downloads have nowhere near enough of a market share yet to become the main method for HD surely? Most people don't have computers that can play HD media anyway. I think there would be a few million peeved off PS3 owners too if there was no more Blu Ray!

(Have also added your £4 ones now... Don't know how I forgot them, I did see them!)

X-Men Quadrilogy blu-ray set for £25 seems alright too!

Lol checked again and think you already had fast and furious - must have missed it first time I looked!
If you can be bothered the majority of the kids, tv and other blu ray options down the side have a fair few at £6 and under which could be added, although most are out of stock. Not that I watch them but thought the Heroes series 2 boxset for £10 sounded rather cheap (oos online).

I think I'm done for tonight lol... My neck hurts and my eyes are getting squinty from looking at the monitor haha!!! There are some absolute gems that are either oos or not online. Event Horizon for £6 being one such case!!!

EDIT- I added them in anyway. Might as well since I've come this far!

FYI: "Budget Version" is basically a rental copy. In some cases, the rental copy is exactly the same as the retail copy apart from the labelling on the disc and the cover saying "Rental Copy" on the top. However there are occasions where the rental copy is just the movie with no extras other than trailers. Bear this in mind before you order :D

The store I work for got cleared out of most of the cheap blu-rays over the past couple of weeks and we havent had anymore in since which is crap because I finally got a HDTV and wanted cheap blu-rays to watch! :P

Wrong thread..

some great prices. What are the condition like on most of these? Do they offer a full refund if unhappy?
#19
just get a brand new box and they are good as new as blu rays are virtually scratch proof too.

They kind of do.......all items are guaranteed for a year if they don't work.

However, I made the mistake of buying a special edition for a friend from CEX online. When it turned up the tin was absolutely hammered and the cardboard sleeve looked like it had been chewed up and farted out by a hungry camel.

I took it to my local store and they wouldn't replace it as it was bought online, so I had to send it back (at my own expense).

I imagine it might be the same if you are unhappy with the condition of the disc, perhaps even the same if it is faulty.

Just a small word of warning. On the flipside I have bought many things from CEX over the years and most have been brand new condition

i order these before they are put on here, then i usually dont get them, i think that it should be first come first served but its always hit and miss with CEX.

im just glad you didnt mention the £8 ones as the last three i ordered are £8 blurays but are disney so quite cheap.

I was going to stop at the £6 ones but there were only a handful of £7ers. By the time I'd listed the £8 ones I may as well have just catalogued everything by price!!!!! :-D

However you have now mentioned the Disney ones, and if they're that cheap then someone is going to go hunting for them and maybe even post them up as a seperate deal!!!
#23
Is that Blade-Runner the two disk edition?

Is that Blade-Runner the two disk edition?

The description says "The Extras Disc Is Presented On DVD", so it's presumably two disc- but only one of them is a Blu Ray lol!

On an unrelated note: Damn it! I knew I should have ordered Man on Fire last night!

Added Fool's Gold, You Don't Mess With The Zohan, Babel, Monkey Magic, Great Expectations, Red Mist....

It appears this may change on a daily basis. Already found three films which weren't there last night!

EDIT: In actual fact, I've just added a crapload that are now available online but weren't at the time I compiled this list yesterday. I think this list will be very hard to maintain regularly since new stuff is clearly going to be in and out of stock all the time!

warning before purchasing from cex:

Some ppl may have had good service from cex. I have not, placed an order 4 days ago for items which were in stock, but after placing my order were out of stock :?

Now i am not allowed to cancel the order, have to wait for items to return to stock. There is no telephone number to contact them with, have to do it all through email.

Frustrating as hell... any advice would be appreciated.

That is worrying considering a lot of my purchases today have been those that re very limited stock.

Hope I do not have the same experience you have had, email them perhaps? Not having a phone number sounds strange...
#31
LOADS of these have now sold out online. Looks like I've probably made it a profitable day for CEX!!!!!

Stock levels and titles change by the hour (if not quicker) so must be putting more on throughout the day :)

Just sign in and go to 'Buy-From-CeX Order Tracking'.

Anyone know how quick CeX are at processing orders/sending them out?

Hopefully their stock levels on the website were accurate when I ordered and I actually get these titles I have ordered. Pretty much all that I did order are now out of stock. Fingers crossed...

Having read a few concerns I thought I'd say if you aren't happy with condition then they should accept a return - we have returned a couple of dvds before with no issue. They will refund you the postage cost if you either put the proof of posting in the package, or, like I did, include a note saying why you are returning and to refund the postage amount shown on the outer package. They will send you a cheque, which you might need to chase up. You may also need to chase up the refund - I am currently doing so with one thing returned a couple of weeks ago (also v important - always send recorded!!!)

Items will appear out of stock as soon as you order, as if there is 1 in stock and your order, you've obviously (in theory at least) taken that 1. If they cancel your order they will send you an email - it might still show in your account as an open order but ignore it - the email is final and eventually they will change the status. People are right to say cex often cancel orders and as far as I am aware this is either because someone has purchased the item instore (I think only half of the stores or so actually do e-commerce), or because two people purchased before the system had registered either sale, or because the shop can't find the case and/or disc. There may well be other reasons too.

And as for order delivery times - it can be the next or even same day, or it can be a month - trust me!

Damn. I have tons of cash in vouchers which would be perfect for this... but obviously you can't use them online. :(

You can but you have to pay for it first then send the voucher in - its more hassle than its worth unless its a large value and you have the exact amount as they aren't great at sending your "change" back.
#40
Voted cold - They are pretty rubbish at CS and the condition of many items are very poor.

Pay the extra quid or 2 in many cases (or wait until Blu comes down to DVD prices) and get a new item.
