Cold. Free gas bottles at local tip. Also there not Calor so no where will fill them.

Cold...So you go to the tip at your expense and time and try to find one, if lucky you then need to go and have it filled somewhere at what cost? Homebase quoted me £34.95 this week for a refill and all my local suppliers were more expensive than gasdeal but hey you may have fun at the tip Stig....

Please note that they do charge a deposit for some bottles ie 'Patio' gas but the Propane I have received and Butane for a friend was FREE Gas bottle & Delivery. If anyone finds any cheaper let us know.

I emailed with engquiry this week and was answered quickly, I ordered online on tuesday and had my Propane gas delivered wednesday. Paid by paypal so if there was any problem you could claim back there.

They refill them also, they just exchange the bottle I think when you need more.

I would email them and ask, they replied me to me the same day...obviously not likely today but tomorrow they should get back to you.

I know the gas isnt being sold by Flogas but the cylinders are Flogas branded. After noodling around I found a review from customers of Flogas. Largely they aren't to do with cylinders but it kind of makes me feel uneasy using them now.

Also I think its illegal now to tip any gas bottles, and most tips I know wont let you wander about them and taking items from them is theft as its council property once it hits the dustbin truck or tip ground.

When I started camping I looked on Gumtree and local forums and picked an empty bottle up for a fiver to save on the extortionate deposit charge for first timers.

Is there any difference in using propane and butane for a BBQ?

Gave some heat even though it doesn't apply to NI.
#20
This place does them at the same prices on ebay for the same gas, by the way, I've been using them a while and happy with the service etc.

propane burns hotter, butane is better in winter as its more volatile.....most people don't notice much difference
#23
You say say cheap.. Can't believe how much propane has gone up over the past 10 years. I used to sell them for a DIY store and the 11k propanes were only £12!
#24
Most bbq use patio gas which is propane. Changed my regulator to a butane one and use a 15kg bottle for £33 lasts all year. Yes this gas is very cheap but try finding a refill on a Sunday afternoon when your doing a family bbq

Its the other way round. Butane burns hotter but does not work well in low temperatures.

You can use both butane and propane on a gas BBQ but the regulator must match the type of gas you are going to use. Butane is 28mBar, Propane is 35mBar.

Oops, oh yea - changed their website since I last looked - at which point I bought on ebay just for ease (much as I hate ebay for their monopoly and so on, I'm part of the problem!)

you need a propane regulator for propane (red) and a butane for calor (blue) some BBQ s allow either gas to be used it is on the instructions for the BBQ

You need a propane fly gas screw regulator, this from calor gas is diferent screw...

I used to be a cylinder filling plant manager for Flogas and can assure you that this is ridiculously cheap. Also for info. it is illegal to get empties at the tip. You can get them from dodgy skip employees, but you run the risk of getting a dodgy cylinder with perished O rings that is well over due for a pressure test. Check cylinder pressure test dates on the cylinder collar. Hot from me.

Of course you can ferry them
#34
You can swap these rather than getting them refilled at most Flogas filling plants. There are 40+ places around the country. Also most Flogas dealers will do the same. Make sure you get a decent bottle back as there are thousands that need scrapping.

Anyone with a new bbq will need the patio gas bottle as its for the new push on propane regulators 28mm. You can use the propane bottle to but will involve using the screw regulator and a spanner which is hassle for some so thats why the new version was designed. Also if u do have a butane bottle they can also be used for bbq as u just need to change the regulator to a butane one. The patio gas with no return of an empty bottle is coming up £52. which is pretty similar to prices from one store to another.
