Worth noting that they are not all Region 2 - Princess Mononoke is Region 4, so for someone like myself who uses a PS3 to play DVDs that's a no go, which is shame because the price is great. Then again it's out of stock so I couldn't buy it if I wanted to!

Absolutely. And for people new to it don't neglect the older stuff - it's got so much heart, but the Little Prince thing is safe to skip. Castle of Cagliostro is hilarious, Laputa: Castle in the Sky is a superb adventure and the original English dub which is hard to get hold of now is really worth chasing down, same with Nausicaa. Kiki's Delivery Service is just beautiful and warm. Grave of the Fireflies is at the opposite end of the scale and shows what emotional power animation can have. Totoro is also warm but I wouldn't say start with it, or Whisper of the Heart even though it's wonderful. Mononoke and Spirited Away should be the last things on your list. Pom Poko is pure mad, yes that is meant to be a ball bag.

Mononoke is the worst ghibli movie in my opinion.

My personal favourites are nausicaa and Totoro. (Which happen to be miyazaki's personal favourite amongst all of hsi work - and rightfully so).
