I was a member of my local public swimming baths paying roughly £18 per month for unlimited swims. When I asked about joining the adult improver class (in order to get better at front crawl) I was told that it was 3.90 per lesson but you had to pay for the whole term - about £45. I thought that was a bargain and was then told that with the lessons I can use the pool as often as I wanted for my £3.90 per week. This works out at only £15.60 per month. So for £16 per month (£2 cheaper than normal membership) I get unlimited swims AND lessons to improve my technique! Can't really say fairer than that if you enjoy swimming! It goes without saying that i've cancelled my normal membership! lol. This will only apply to public swimming baths that use the everyone active scheme, but there are nearly 60 public swimming baths that use it so chances are you should find one in your area - http://www.everyoneactive.com

rather drown than pay £3.90 for a whole week of swimming and a lesson too..??

£3.90 alone for a coaching session that improves my front crawl so that I can swim faster and using less energy when i'm doing triathlons is a bloody bargain!

One swim session alone in my swimming baths (hinckley) is £3.05 - how can this be a bad deal...???

Also, why do you have to be on benefit to get cheap swimming. It's about time a public deal was available that included people that work their ar***s off to pay for the rest of society.

Sorry... rant over ;-)
