When you go to see a film, remember to pick up your money off voucher. I think this gives you up to £1.75 off your next visit.
Then, if you go on Tuesday it is £4.00 all day...

(I go with my daughter on Tuesdays and use the voucher and it only costs £5.00 for an adult and a child..... cheap as chips!!!)

Remember as well the "any 8 for £6.99" offers on food and drink...another bargain if you are going in a group of 4.

Whenever you go and see a film they SHOULD give you the voucher. I say should as often I have to remind them.
Think the expiry is 2 weeks from that date so you do need to use them quick. i keep mine in the car then i have less chance of forgetting them.
I assume the offer is nationwide but you will have to check. i have had them for Blackburn and Accrington.

I think you either get given them, or pick them up when you go to buy your tickets at the box office. I have a few but keep forgetting to use them! :?

you are given them when you buy tickets. Students get 45p off or something. Cheaper to go to other cinemas even after the discound

If you could add something to that effect to the OP please... as I for one had no idea about this :)

Using the voucher on a Tuesday allows you to see any film at any time for £2.50, otherwise it is £4. Using the voucher any other day of the week offers adults a saving of £1.50 off the price of a standard ticket, and a saving of 75p for kids, students and seniors. As for the "any 8 for £6.99" food offer, this offer is only available before 6pm.

Pretty sure I've had the food offer after 6 but could be wrong there.

Good for taking the kids to watch a film though as it costs the earth otherwise. Great for over a lunchtime as they can have a hot dog and a drink and it works out cheaper than McDonalds.

they can have a hot dog and a drink

taken from a report from a staff member on www.grumbletext.co.uk:
One lady recieved a hot dog which had been spat on coughed on an kicked around the floor, a gentleman recieved some extra protien in his salsa for natchos when a staff member picked his nose and mixed i a rather large booger in with the salsa. That is just the half of what goes on, behind in the kitchen where all food is prepared, there are no facilities to prepare food, raw and cooked food are placed together, the fly zapper has not been emptied in about 5 months, popcorn warmers are just emptied each night with a dustpan and brush, there are rat and mice droppings all over the place and in some places its piled 2 inches thick and welded to the floor.
Having worked in a cinema whilst a student, I can say I saw all of these going on.... do you remember last summer's report of the mice in UGC Cardiff? Cinemas are rancid places, the food is best avoided!

that could happen anywhere you go, thats the risk you take when eating out, you never know what has happened to the food unless you cook it yourself

Could you give an example of other, cheaper cinemas? I have been going to Vue on a Tues using the vouchers and it costs £5 for two of us. I'd be even happier to go somewhere cheaper!

But cinemas are notoriously bad. Environmental Health are pretty sharp on take-aways, restaurants, etc, but who ever heard of a cinema being shut down? When Cardiff UGC made the national press last year with its mice and rat infestation, the cinema didn't have to close down, and the staff were told not to tell anyone about the problem. The great quote in the Sun was "I told the manager mice had been attacking my feet and he said 'sssh, we don't want everyone to know'". Pure Fawlty!

Best advice is probably not to eat anything you can't see in the first place...

If you like chocolate, then why not buy 8 bags of specially flashed 175g size Revels/ Minstrels/ M&Ms/Maltesers for a total of £8 (they are on a 2 for £2 offer at bothAsda and Tesco). 8 tokens gets you 2 free Vue cinema tickets (make sure you buy the packs flashed with thsi offer at the top, it's impossible to miss). This way you get 2 cinema tickets for £8...plus bloody loads of chocolate to much on while you are there! :w00t:

VUE at Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh do the vouchers. Gives £1.50 off per person. Tuesdays are £4 all day. So 2 is £5, pretty good eh? As said before the vouchers last 14 days. They have always given them without asking. The Tuesday thing is to drive business on a quiet day. Its also a quiet day early on and this means you can get the good seats.

vue Swansea is £6.20 on a Tuesday so how is everyone else £4

Anyone know how much Vue cinema at York normally charge ?

Thanks

What you don't know won't hurt you!!
Lets face it, you don't get ill and you don't die you don't even notice so does it really make any difference!?!

Are you sure this offer is nationwide, as my local Vue cinema in North London charges £9 per person and they've been handing out these £1.50 vouchers for ages?

So even with the voucher, it's £7.50 but I haven't been for at least a month now and normally book through Lastminute.com for £4.75 per person monday-Thursday.

Also, the only offers I've seen on food and drink is if you buy a combo but that only knocks off about 30p in total for stuff that's overpriced by at least 100%, with a small bottle of water costing nearly £2. :x
